Choose your wedding date??

Any specific reasons (anniversary, holiday weekend, etc)?? or was it the ONLY one left available in your fave month??

I really wanted a September/October wedding of this year.. but it just wasn't feasable for us to plan and pay for a wedding in such a short period of time.. So I wanted a warmer month and chose May 20,2007 which was the week b4 Memorial Day so I can have an extra day off of work.. but that was out of our price range.. so we chose the last Sunday in April (29th, 2007) for our wedding.. it was $15.00 less expensive and it will still be somewhat warm!!

number one...being in the teaching profession summer was the obvious option. July worked better b/c enough time for HM and time to get back and relax b4 the new year. We originally wanted july 28th b/c it was my gparents anniversay but it was $140 pp as oppossed to $95 for the sunday.....and lastly it worked aound my womenly clock.....i made it a point not to have my period at my wedding/honeymoon. im on the pill and am very regular so i was able to figure out when i would have it and pick the best week for me. i know i am anal and nutty.......

we chose our date because of the warm weather and it was a holiday weekend so people could stay the weekend and not have to go back to work monday! And I just really love August!

I just love December! The whole month just gets me gitty!! I cant think of a better way to start the month. I picked the 1st of December because I didn't want the holidays to overshadow my wedding too much.

FH decided he really liked early fall, I didn't want to do September (I hope to be teaching then, September is too insane with the start of the school year), so we decided first weekend in October... then when we figured out that it was Columbus day weekend, so we can have an extra day without missing work, it just seemed like the right day.

It's also, coincidentally, 2 days off from our 6-month anniversary, which is kind of nice as well.

i originally wanted july 1 of 06 b/c it is fh and i anniversary and it is a saturday of a holiday weekend.. but realistically there wasn't enough time to save

I really wasn't stuck on a particular date as much as it being on a Saturday night. I was willing to do a winter/early spring month to save $$$. Originally it was going to be March 31st but we were able to negotiate the same price for May 5th with the BM. We figured that we have a better chance of nice weather so why not?

March is cheap and the date we picked has no sports going on (March Madness begins the next week). We also need to do the middle of the month for our jobs.

Originally I thought I wanted a fall wedding, but as we were starting to crunch the numbers we realized that might be a strain financially so we decided on 07. I was not waiting until the fall of '07 so I started to look the beginning of the year. When I saw our anniversary fell on a Friday I figured it was fate and I called him up and said he what do you think about this? And with that we had set our date.

Well we are both soon to be teachers (hopefully in sept!) so it had to be summer (which happens to be my favorite season anyway so it worked out) and so I picked July 14 ... no reason behind

Originally i wanted June 30th bc that was the day that i met FH, and it falls on a Sat in '07 - and I really wanted the priest to say 6 yrs ago from this date is when it all started .....

BUT - all the RH's we went to did not have that date, so i went for the week before - maybe we will celebrate our 6 yrs of meeting each other on our honeymoon

I wanted to get married in July and loved 07/07/07 once I realized that date was on Saturday. It seems so perfect.

we didnt want to spend summer wedding prices.. April is just a 'springy' beautiful month, and being easter season its a 'new beginning' for us as a couple.. 4-14 was the original plan but we switched it to 4-13 and got free chair covers out of the deal, so it stuck!

FH wanted a winter wedding because he does not like the heat so I comprised and picked Feb. Plus it's close to Valentine's day and I wanted to use red's and gold's.

We wanted a fall wedding because it seemed like the weather was a bit more predictable and not as hot, but still warm. We picked the beginning of October because FH has to be back in time to watch the world series (I am so not joking about that last part either! )

We chose to have our wedding in December for a few reasons

as of right now, my FH coaches high school football so that kinda ruled out my dream of a fall wedding.

when we looked into summer months, it was nuts. In June, we had to figure if I had a teaching job, and then the following weekend after school got out would have been my sister's anniversary and I didn't want that. Then 2 of our college friends are getting married in early July so if we went to their weddings (7/7/07 and 7/14/07) they;d be on their honeymoons for our's. Then in August, it's my birthday and too hot for my liking!!

So we chose December- I LOVE Christmas and I loved how the halls were decorated for the season! I'm super excited that it's in the winter!!! There weren't any good deals though in December!
