I haven't priced out videotography... but at least the video guys will edit the content for you. That takes at least half a brain to do.
It just says more money to me because FH is freaking awesome at editing video. We hope to maybe be able to find a videographer who will also give us the raw footage in addition to their edit of the day.
You know what I am thinking about doing? Buying the Sony DVD handicam for $900 buks. Then just have a bunch of my co-workers help film the video for me. I am sure they would do it if I asked them. Then I keep the $900 camera after the fact. I can do the edits myself if need be.

i thought about that but i felt bad asking people to miss out on the fun of the wedding and do 'work' for me...... you can get the raw footage for about $1000 from most videographers and then do the editing yourself....

Maitre'ds actually don't get paid that much they only get paid per party and most of the money they make is from tips. Just something to think about when you are tipping them.
I know our Maite d through a relative and they DO make a lot...at my hall anyway....add About $800 for 5 hours ( we will say with set up etc 8 hours) pay and thats a LOT of money...hey even if they worked for free the tip amount for that amount of work is INSANE ..even if they do one wedding a week...for 8 hours pay( TIP!) thats my full time work week salary!
