Re: please cheer me up

I'm so sorry you are going through this. I know how you feel as my FH was put in a similar position by his family. I won't go into details here, but please try to think positively and don't jump to conclusions. I know, easier said then done, I had to wait for a few weeks while he went to see them.

Try to stay positive. He's probably upset/angry with his family right now and waiting until he can make sense of things before calling.

It may be just me, but I would get back on the train and go back to his house. I would need to talk to my FH and have answers. I can't stand waiting and being in a fight.

I agree. You dont have to talk to your FMIL but you DEFINATELY have the right to talk to your FH!!!! GO back there and talk to him!!!!

Actually I would try to wait. Hear me out. If he isn't there right now chewing his mother and brother out, he doesn't deserve her.

I agree. That is part of marriage. It's standing up in front of your family and saying, this woman is my first prioirty now. I hope your FH comes through. I'm sorry all this happened and I'm so so sorry your're upset. You seem like a great person and I hope this all works out in the end!

I'm so sorry I agree with the other ladies: find something else to do - watch a movie, read a book, just try and get your mind off weddings.

I hope he calls soon.

I know I'm so upset, thing is i dunno even know if FH will be defnding me, who knows. and its been over 2 hrs since i got on the train to go home :(
i cant even call him because he lost his cell phone last week and has to get new one tomorrow an i can exactly call his house.

What do you mean, you can't call the house. Call the house, talk to your FH, and found out what the hell is going on.

I agree with the previous post. Call the house and keep calling until you get to talk to him. Don't get upset with anyone who answers the phone, just politely ask to speak with him. If you need to use the *67 feature to block your number, do it. But it doesn't make sense to sit around and wonder.

About the comments FBIL made, only you can determine what is crossing the line. If his family or FH himself, believe you to be immature because you won't sit there and take someone else's abuse... well maybe you need to evaluate if you want to be a part of that mess to begin with.

Also, if you want to talk about immature... his mother doesn't seem to be such a rational adult, if she has to show up at the train station, throw your belongings on the floor and threaten to cancel YOUR wedding. If she signed the contract, she may be able to cancel it.. but it's the person who signed the contract that can cancel regardless of who made what payment.

keep us posted and keep your head up!

I would HAVE to get this cleared up if I were in the situation....the waiting would kill me. Also, I think that he really should have made it a point to have called you by now.. I'm sure he knows you well enough to know how upset you are and to make you feel better he should have called you 1st thing. I'm sorry you are going through this.

That's nice of them to pay for half of the wedding but that doesn't give her the right to hang it over your head and cancel it altogether. After all, YOU are the bride. Cancelling the wedding is YOUR call. If she doesn't want to pay for half anymore then that's her call and you might have to work around that. Sorry you are dealing with this...Good Luck

I completely agree...it is not her call! All she could do is say she is not going to help pay for it, which may not be a bad thing, because now she will not have ANY control over the wedding!

Oh sweetie I am sorry that you are having to deal with this. I say let her cancel the hall...now you can plan the wedding with out her, and you don't have to invite her friends!!! You can have the wedding you want without her money and then you don't have to worry about what she says. I am sure that you FH is wanting to call you but who knows what is going on in that house. I am sure that he loves you and that in his mind there is no question that he still wants to marry you. I do think that you should call his house, and I agree about using *67 so your # is blocked!! Don't wait anymore for him to call you.
Good luck, we are all thinking about you and thinking only good thoughts

Re: please cheer me up

Do you live together?? Is it typcial for him to just ignore the situation??? Kind of strange that he would just disappear out of nowhere and not address the situation with you and let you know what is going on.

I am so sorry you are going throught this. Just follow your gut and your heart. Is there any way you can contact him by phone? I just don't know if traveling while you are this upset is such a good idea, but whatever you decide to do it will be the right thing. I would not be able to sleep either if I was in the same position.

I think you should either call the house or get back there.
What his mother is doing is unfair to both of you. She is calling you names and acting like a crazy woman in public and putting your FH in an awkward situation. SHe has no right to make him choose between her and you, if that is what she is doing.
I don't know what went on in that five minutes when your FBIL said something inappropriate, but whatever it was sure as hell couldn't have warranted something like this, especially if you have always had a good relationship with FIL's, like you said.
Even the mother losing the son thing does not warrant such behavior from your FMIL.
You deserve to know what is going on, and I know I wouldn't be able to sleep without knowing. Call the house, and ask to speak with him, I know it will be weird, but you have a right.
