I was talking to a friend and now I am curious to know if anyone is paying for their own wedding gown or are your parents, FH, etc.. paying for it?? My friend had heard it was bad luck to pay for it yourself.. is this true??

I paid for my own, FH & i are paying for the wedding. Well I already have bad luck, so a bit more won't matter...haha

Im paying for the wedding, FH paid for the Ering and the HM, my parents are paying for my gown and chair covers

Ive heard that bad luck thing too, dont worry bout it. Funny I never heard of so many superstitions until i got engaged..

my mom is mostly paying for it. we are doing it in a funny way. every bit of spare change she has, she's been saving for the past few years. so every so often, we sit and roll the change and deposit it into the bank. well we've come up with about $952 so far! i've thrown some change in there, but mainly it's been her.
we did pretty much the same thing nearly 10 yrs. ago for my prom dress!

Do I believe it..no.
The way prices are today...going halfers or having to do it yourself is very common

Parents are buying mine.
I thought it was bad luck to MAKE your own wedding dress, I never heard the superstition about buying your own (unless the superstition was updated since buying wedding dresses is more common than making them nowadays)
