Question.......

Re: Question.......

I'm Italian. And I wouldn't be offended at all. I mean, unless there were making some really racist comment like 'He's a greasy guido' - LOL but I mean, just to use the word, or call someone that word, is not offensive to me...

I'm glad i'm getting everyone's opinions on whether being offended by this term, b/c I honestly didn't know if Italians DO get offended by it. I guess if any term is used in a derogatory manner, then being offended by it would be a given. But I guess in this case, that's not what the person meant.

Doesnt bother me...BUT a LIW chic did tell me that I am a typical guidette and to go tease my hair..

NOW that pissed me off...only because she judged me based on my name and because I have natural curly hair....

That's a little rude!

yeah it was!!!!!!!!!!

but I also saw where it was coming from

Re: Question.......

Sometimes it amazes me how common place certain derrogatory words become.

I used to get called a JAP all the time..

Just don't get it

How someone can be easily called a JAP and a Guidette

Re: Question.......

WOP stands for without papers ---

it refers to the early immigrants, saying that they were dirty, diseased, unwanted/unsponsored to come to America.

It is scary. My college roommate went to Half Hollow Hills and she told me that the school was filled with JAP's and dirtbags and even if you weren't Jewish, you preferred to be a JAP.

How did religion describe one's style?

I take offense,,,epsecially since my parents were born in Italy and came to the states as teenagers.

People would say,,' I am italian,,,but your a wop'.
meaning they are more american italian..and I am not.
