Question for anyone who has been married at John Anthony's(long)

Hi, We recently booked our wedding at John Anthony's in August 2003. My biggest concern before we booked was two weddings at one time. For anyone who has been married there, could you let me know how things went with that. I did a search and have not heard one negative comment about the food or the service I'm just nervous about the bathroom situation. I also would like to know if you ran into the other bride at all that day? I know the bridal suites are right across from each other. Our room is upstairs so I don't think we will be effected by the music. The only problem will be when people go downstairs to use the restrooms. For the brides who had the room upstairs..Where did your guest go to smoke? I don't want anyone to miss too much by going downstairs all the time. Thanks so much for your help!!

I am not a Jonh Anthony's bride but my cousin did get married there and as a guest I can tell you we didn't bump into another wedding. You couldn't even hear the music. Things ran very smoothly.

Re: Question for anyone who has been married at John Anthony's(long)

We had our reception at JA's on 9/14 - the place was amazing- you will not be disappointed with the amount of food (delicious) as well as the service. If you have over 150 people they set up a beautiful wine bar in addition to the regular bar during cocktail hr which was a nice touch. (i forgot to mention this in my review) - another nice touch was they put two white bottles of wine on each table in a silver wine chiller and a bottle of red which is so nice in my opinion.

We had the upstairs room for dinner as well. The smoking issue was a concern to me (I was so happy that it is a smokefree facility- I find it disgusting to fill up a gorgeous room with smoke) albeit was concerned about guests leaving...my guests went on the waterview deck during cocktail hr downstairs (and during dinner some of them went outside in the front of the bldg, some went on the deck upstairs)...in any event its their problem for missing things.

Bathroom situation- yes there is only bathroom for two weddings but there are two bridal suites downstairs each with a bathroom so you dont have to worry about sharing with another bride. I did see the other bride once during the nite when i was going to my suite but it didnt bother me. We didnt hear any music from their room and as for guests seeing another bride it didnt bother me. My guests told me the bathroom was very elegant and they didnt have a problem accessing it......so I wouldnt worry about it. There are so many positives it wont matter. Best of luck.... :)

One more item--

There are two weddings at one time, however, they stagger the two weddings by a half hour (our cocktail began at 7:30, the other wedding at 7) this is another way to have things run smoothly --particularly works well for the valet parking.

By the time our guests arrived, the other weddings' guests cars had already been parked and the same holds true for leaving the wedding (alleviating the waiting time for the cars.)

Thanks for making me feel more at ease
Verdila- I'm glad you had such a great time, congrats! One last question..Did you find there to be a problem taking pictures at J.ANthonys with two weddings? We would like to take pictures on the side of the Ocean room (not where our reception is). I think the staggared timing should help this too because we will get there a 1/2 hr. later but I really don't want to miss cocktail hour. Thanks again for all your help!
