RANT - Lillette's - UPDATED

i don't doubt that i may be flamed for this ...

but i see things from a different perspective.



if the manufacturer has a set pricing structure for their gowns (usually intended to prevent people from shopping around and to reduce this sort of competitiveness between stores) ... how is it fair that the original store sell the dress at below that set price?!


its a shame that you got caught in the middle, but i don't blame lillette's one bit for calling the manufacturer!

100% agree but they used her name...THAT is not ok, its not right in all regards.

i would definitely call them up and give them a little peice of your mind.........how rude and unprofessional

I completely agree with you in that i can see how they would want to take every step they could to ax the competition by finger pointing, but they had NO RIGHT to get me involved, and thats what I am livid about.

i agree!! competition is competition especially if they're selling gown below market price, HOWEVER you dont get a bride's name involved!! that's just ridiculous!

I agree. It's terrible that they used your name! I would definitely complain!

I ordered my dress from Lillettes, but only because I found it there and loved it and I loved working with Lenore. I do not really like the other women there. Lenore no longer works on the selling floor and the other people (aside from the wonderful seamstress) are not so nice and very cut-throat! I had a similar situation with the BM dresses, except I didn't tell them where I went to try look at it.

I have to say I'm really upset at this as well. This Mon Cheri dress was my dream dress. I fell in love with it when i first tried it on in march, but i was waiting to buy it because my mom was worried about it sitting in the closet and turning yellow. I guess i shouldn't have waited so long, because now if they raise the price it will be out of my budget and I won't be able to get it I can't believe ppl stoop so low just to so they can make more sales. It's ridiculous and totally unprofessional

Girls if you find a dress you love, buy it. Don't wait as log as i did.

They defintely should not have used your name....

Or perhaps they knew it was you since they gave you a specfic price on a specific dress and they figured out it was you?

Just so sad that it happened to you, Im sorry and I hope it all works out in the end.

I went there over the weekend and was so dissapointed. I am a plus size bride and when I called before I went they said 'we have tons of plus size gowns' well when I went they had 3 for me to try on!! While I was trying on dresses the lady I was working with (I cannot remember her name) just left and started helping someone at the counter. There was someone else helping the other customer but I guess she wanted to but in.

I was still in a dress just waiting for her to try the next one, which was only was one more for about 15-20 minutes! I asked for the designer which she gave but would not give the style number so I went on the site and the dress was not there! It was over priced anyway. I was so dissapointed because I live in Hauppauge and went all the way there because I was told they had TONS of dresses.

That is disgusting ... so is the store going to raise the price of the dress now? At the end, business is business and I would buy the dress from the cheaper place too! The money is coming out of your pocket not theirs!

besides tell them that you posted on the liweddings board to all the brides to not shop there and they will be scared!

OK - so i just called them and asked to speak to a manager. Just so happens that the b*tch that ratted me out is one of the owners, so i got to speak with her and tell her where to shove it directly. I managed to speak professionally and calmly as opposed to screaming at her, but made sure I got my point across. I told her I was disgusted with her unprofessionalism, that i fully intended on buying my gown with them purely out of traveling convenience and alterations etc. (not true) but that i will be taking my business elsewhere, as will my bridesmaids and several other brides that I let know about the way they run their business. she tried to tell me that the manufacturer NEEDED my name in order to contact the other salon and I said its wonderful that they would rather rat me out than politely say they would prefer not to name names. She also said that she thought it was unprofessional that the other salon would even TELL me about this poeurkseflksepojhrslh!!!! I said why? because now I know what kind of ppl you are, while they remained polite and professional and understanding with me? GIVE ME A BREAK. I told her I was going to make it my business to make sure anyone I knew that was in search of a gown or BM dresses to steer clear of her rat cage disguised as a bridal salon.
