We do, for the past year...
We were always staying over each others places (both lived not with parents)... and it was just cheaper and the 'next step' in the relationship.. (*and i HATED living with my insecure hermit roomate haha)

And like many have said i didnt want any surpirses after being married! haha..

its' the best thing ever..!!

I have a basement apartment in my parents house which I moved into a year ago to save $$$ to buy I had lived on my own for about 8 years and wasted a lot of money on rent!

FH in theory lives with me BUT does have a 'room' at his parents house. We both travel a lot for work and want to spend as much time as possible together when we can.

FIL's basically gave FH and his brother a 2-family house they were using as a rental property. Currently we are renovating it (ok literally gutted). We are hoping to move in by August.

IMO..I think every couple has to do what works best for them but for me, I insist on living with someone first.

I wish I lived with FH but I have a very stct old fashion Greek traditional father... My dad is great but it took FH years to get his foot through my front door.

we don't live together for 2 reasons:
1. we live rent-free at home so that helps us alot financially especially when we're paying for a huge wedding
2. our parents are VERY traditional so they wouldn't be ok with us living together before we get married

I own a mother daughter with my mom, i live upstairs & she is downstairs, but I have all the ameties of a whole house, full kitchen , bath etc,,

FH moved in with me , duh,, Made sense instead of him renting a apartment,, But we did this way b4 we go engadged ,, Made sense & worked out well, We ironed out all the quirks we had & were living happily ,, LOL

This is our reasons too, save for a house and pay for the wedding, with rent couldn't do these things easily.

We live together. He was over everynight anyway, it just made more sense. This is my second marriage. I did not live with my first husband before I married him, I know if I did, I would not have married him. We live and learn. After that, I said I would have to live with someone before doing it again!

We still both live at home but are starting our apartment search this weekend. Our plan is to get an apt to move into in August. My mom is trying to get us to live at my house a few months before moving out to save extra money but it would just make things more hectic for us in the fall so moving in at hte end of the summer is good timing for us stress wise. I am nervous about leaving home but looking forward to starting this next phase with FH.

When we first met I lived in Queens in a 2
bedroom with my brother and he lived in Suffock with his parents and commuted to NYC everyday. After about six months he moved in with me. We dedcided that after living with my brother for a year that we wanted to buy a place before we got engaged. We bought a place and 10 months later we got engaged and planned our wedding for a 1 1/2 out. Now when we get married we can sell our Coop and use that money for a down payment on a house. This is what worked best for us. I love living with my honey

Darren was staying at my apartment almost EVERY night, so I brought up the idea of moving in together. Mind you he's been a bachelor for many years, so to give up HIS space was alot, and took a few years. Finally he gave in, and I moved in with him. It saved us money, and with that extra money, we paid off some credit card bills, and banked some as well. Living together was not a problem for us, because he practically lived at my apartment anyway!! Worked out well. We couldn't be happier

same thing here.....plus both sets of parents are more traditional and prefer that we not. and im not about to defy their (my parents) wishes when they are paying for my wedding. dont bite the hand that feeds ya!

basically the same thing here. FH and i are paying for the wedding on our own, so living rent free allows us to do that.

plus i lived with an ex before, and this time i wanted to go a traditional route and have the 'newlywed' feeling after our wedding.

Do not live with fh
1. trying to save $$ to move out and pay for a wedding
2. It was either live with fh or get married. decided its time to get married.
3. parents are very traditional. they will help me out so that i can move out and have a wedding if i live at home.
4. have my own apartment in my parents house with very minimal rent. parents won't let fh move in before marriage.

Dont live w/ fh because
1. we both own our own co-op's prior to being engaged.
2. we work on opposites of the island fh(nyc) and me (southampton), the commute for either one of us would be disatrous.

Awww, that's sweet!

FH and I live together really just because we wanted to. I love coming home to him, sitting on the couch in silence doing nothing with him, cooking together, etc ... I just want him around all the time. Mom and dad didn't love it, but at 26 and financial supporting myself I wasn't going to have them tell me what to do. They're fine with it now, and have actually been to the apartment a number of times over the last 1.5 years.

Very similar to us. Being financially independant, the parents really didnt have a say in what I decided to do. Then we moved out to Vegas together, and so living together was just obvious at that point.

We're saving money by living together. We were living alone and when we decided to get an apartment together we started saving an extra $300 per month each. We both moved out of our parents houses when we left for college and I can't imagine living with them again.

I know that feeling well right now FH and I live in two different cities him in NYC and me in Chicago, but I can't wait to move back home early next year because of the extra $$$$ we will both be saving.

I actually just moved in w/ FH a few weeks ago. My plan was to move in w/ him about 6 months before the wedding, but honestly, I couldn't stand waiting anymore. When I was younger, I always thought I'd go the more traditional route. But at the age of 33, I figured it was time to move out!!!
