Ok, in 1987-88-89, I would wake up in the morning, take Conair curling brush, while using Stiff Stuff to lift the front so that it would stay balanced ever so precariously at the front of my head. My bangs would also be sprayed into place so as to not ever have the wind dare reveal my forehead, which was usually covered with small pimples due to the hairspray I did not have the common sense to KNOW was causing them.

Sometimes I would use a Goody scrunchy in a color to match my shirt or socks (sometimes two scrunchies to match my two pairs of socks that were worn in opposite ways on both feet) to pull the sides of my hair up to create a fountain effect with the layers that were cut into the sides of my hair. On a good day I would look something like an ostrich.

misty, I picture you perfectly....

would you believe that my mom would NOT let me use hairspray!!!! Junior high was incredibly traumatic because of it!
