Ring insurance?
My ring came with appraisal and certification. So since I live at home, my parents insure it under their home owners insurance. when we get a home it will be under there...it can also be purchased under renters insurance!!
my parents pay $350 for the year for mine! :)

Ring insurance?
I got my ring appraised by a guy in Garden City, he was great, and then I got my ring insured by aperfectcircle.com. The benefits are peace of mind. If it ever gets stolen, or I lose it, I get full appraisal value and can get a new one. It's really not too expensive, and for the benefits, it's worth it in the long run.

FH had my ring insured before he even proposed! I think the insurance company needed the appraised value (wherever he got that from) and the stones GIA certificate (or any other certification for your particular stone: GIA, EGL, etc.)
The policy is under both of us since its technically my property. If my ring is ever lost or stolen it'll be replaced. I definitely think it's worth the peace of mind, I don't think it's very expensive.
okay... so with that said... I have NO idea what type of stone mine is. I found it at my jeweler who got it through an estate sale. Should I just get it appraised by my jeweler? Is there a specific place I need it appraised? Truthfully.. I don't know much about my ring. I saw it and fell in love with it and all I know its that its 14k white gold.
I LOVE estate jewelry! I used to work in a jewelry store and I used to walk around the store wearing all the different pieces LOL. I would start off with calling or going to the jeweler and seeing if they do appraisals (they probably do). I just asked FH and he said the jeweler faxed all the info to his insurance company for him and he went to a mom and pop type place. They faxed the appraisal, stone certificate (this may be because he bought the stone and setting separately, not entirely sure on that one), and proof of purchase. If your jeweler doesn't do it I'm sure there are third parties out there that will be able to do it too. HTH!

I NEED to insure mine!! Which brings me to my next question... do i bring it to Aruba with me in April? I am SO nervous to lose it or dirty it at the beach. I am so cautious with it. I know some married girls who have a fake one for the beach. Whats your thoughts??
FH and I are going to Punta Cana in April and I'm definitely not going to bring the e-ring. I tossed around the idea of bringing a fake and I still don't know if I'll get one or not but between the tan lines and not wanting to get mugged I'll probably just be ring-less for the week! FH is in law enforcement and he gets super paranoid about these things, I just want the peace of mind... he's SO paranoid he doesn't even want us to wear our wedding bands when we go on our honeymoon LOL

It only takes a few days for the insurance to kick in from what I remember. At least from the company I used. If you get it insured, you can wear your ring anywhere without fear of losing and having to replace it. If you don't get it insured, I'd leave it home in a safe place.

Ring insurance?
My fiance had my ring appraised and insured before he gave it to me. He added it to his homeowner's policy.

This is the company I used. They were very reasonable and seemed to be much better then what my homeowners policy was offering. http://www.perfectcircleinsurance.com/?gclid=CKPVqeDGmrUCFdOf4AodEh8ABA

Ring insurance?
we appraised ours at marinelli jewelry in eastport. it cost like $50 or 75 (zales, where we bought them, does not appraise)then we added them both to a separate policy from the same company as the homeowners-- it's like $60 a year
ETA- homeowners doesnt cover over a certain amount AND requires a deductible, which our separate one does not.
