rudest thing someone said about your wedding planning ( taken from 05 boards)

i have a good one..

when looking at wedding bands..mine is a black diamond etrnity band the jeweler said i look like, and i quote, 'filthy white trash' and laughed and said 'a little morbid'

'well you just certainly want nothing but the best don't you. where do u think your gonna get all the $$ to pay for this big fancy wedding of urs?'

That was this weekend when I was showing people pics of my dress....yeah

I haven't had anything yet. Except for my mom and sis joking about how expensive this is gonna cost. but nothing bad so far.

thats weird..but funny that old people think like that

For me its people making comments about how big my bridal party is, how many guests we are having, and its not close friends or anything like that, its more acquaintances that aren't even invited to the wedding.

not much so far except the usual - why so far away?

But today - I got from a very distant colleague at work who is not in my dept - when is the wedding - i need to know - im invited right?

Which was followed up with - so when are you leaving (job) b/c I want to take your position!

I couldn't believe it!!!!!!!!

For me its people making comments about how big my bridal party is, how many guests we are having, and its not close friends or anything like that, its more acquaintances that aren't even invited to the wedding.

That's cause they're jealous they're not IN or INVITED to your wedding! lol

ive gotten the whole diet thing too

but another one thats huge with me is i have 15 tattoos 9 will be visible and people tell me im going to regret it..but my FH refuses to have me cover them up or take out my lip ring..he says its me and it wouldnt be a good idea to cover up or take out my piercing..

it was then that i knew i had the right guy

i have a tattoo my stars on my chest, and they will be visible and i dont care.

along with if i wear a shorter dress, you'll see the ones on my ankles too!

ha ha probably my mom saying i am going to have the most boring wedding ever.

or the countless people asking why i would plan a wedding when there could be a blizzard

that makes me feel better..i have stars going down my spine and a tatto on my wrist that is my FH zodiac design..

i love them and im not doing anything different for anyone

very few people who made comments are invited but very few. Eh whatever let them say what they want ya know.

The one comment i hate the most is 'oh it must be so nice to have your parents helping out' and then they go on about how they'll have no help...Its not like my parents are paying for the WHOLE wedding...I am paying a decent amount, in fact its more like my parents and i are paying half and half, but his parents are also going to contribute now so actually i will split my parents costs and his parents so it will be less for my parents so overall i am paying the most which yes is how it should be...at first i told my parents that FH and I will pay for the wedding and if they want to help they can pick something or things they would like to pay for such as the cake or the dress....My dad got mad and offered to do more

There have been several but my two favorite are:

'March? Stinks that it will probably snow and a lot of people won't come'

and

'I heard you are not inviting children. Just so you know, my son is home crying right now and I just hope he doesn't wind up hating you'

thanks - i hope so!
but i told my mom i dont want to do some of the traditional things, which i know LOTS of girls on here are NOT doing either but for my mom it is a big deal- like i dont want to do the bo-k and garter thing, no organized dances stuff like that, i think all pretty common things to leave out now . . . but to her it is like the biggest deal ever! she even tells people who are invited that they should expect a boring wedding!

im not doing those either..its not a party to be filled with games and silly dances..plus if someone drunk relitive catches the garter and is like completely raunchy with it..it wont make for a good memory

ohmigosh i understand this - i told FILs that my parents are paying for certain items ( like my dress) and they go on and on saying that they hope i know how lucky i am and they dont have to do that and they cant believe my parents are doing that ( meanwhile, like you, my parents are not paying for EVERYTHING - just what they can afford to and i AM so thankful for that!)

so i guess that means FILs are not helping at all since they are making such a big deal - even though i just found out that they did not pay a DIME for their own wedding their parents split it ( yes i know it was different and more affordable back then but still!)
