Spinoff: 26 and over

Original post by McSulllivan

I thought the 25 and under thread was pretty interesting, and I wanted to see the other side of the coin - US (the older brides)!

Do you get told you are 'too young' for marriage, or have your heard, 'Well it's about time' . . .

I'm 30 and will be married in November. I've been dating my FH since I was 25 (he had just turned 28). I CAN NOT IMAGINE if I had married the man that I was with at 23 and I breathe a sigh of relief every time I look at FH. (Of course I realize that it isn't the same for everyone, my best friend got married at 23 and they are one of the happiest couples I've ever come across).

Anyone else feel that way?

Re: Spinoff: 26 and over

I was 26 when we got married (just turned 27 earlier this month) and FH is 31. I think it's the perfect time for us. I had lived in an apt with my best friend for a few years, travelled with my friends, and am ready and thrilled to be spending the rest of my life with DH. DH has been on his own for years and was ready and open to sharing his life with me. I don't think I would have been ready earlier and am glad I had my 20s to do the things I did and same with DH. Different times work for different people.
