not getting married there however i work for the catholic church in a school
most are reverting back to extremely strict- everyone's shoulders covered etc
prices range from 600-1200 depending on church with an extra pre cana fee
pre cana is usually 3-7 weeks depending on church schedule

Not getting married there. We are getting married at St. Dominics in Oyster Bay and we have already completed pre cana. It was 3 consecutive Sunday's 2 hours each time with an 1 hour mass before (Sunday 5pm-8pm)

They weren't strict at all. They didn't address anything regarding pre marital sex and/or living together before marriage. In pre cana we actually spoke about those things and how it is inevitable as well as acceptable.

Not getting married there, but most churches aren't that strict about certain things. I honestly haven't seen/heard of any problems with brides wearing strapless or anything like that. We are doing a 1 weekend pre cana with my church. It's a full Saturday and a half day Sunday in March. I'm actually kind of looking forward to it.

Pre Cana was honestly one of the greatest experiences FH & I have shared. Brought us even closer! Enjoy the process. Truly, truly enlightening :)

Also not getting married there, but if the church I am getting married in is any indicator of the 'norm,' things really aren't that strict. Our Pre-Cana is a Friday evening and a full Saturday.

I have yet to hear of a church that forces brides to cover their shoulders. I really do believe they'd lose more people if that were the case, plus if you did show up in a strapless gown the day of your wedding, what are they honestly going to do?

As far as pricing, it would depend on whether or not you're a parishioner and if you do Pre-Cana there or another parish or the diocese.
