Student Loans-not exactly wedding related sorry, I just need help

This is not exactly wedding related but I was wondering how much you guys pay in student loans. I have about $90,000 in student loans and wanted to know what my payments are going to be like (I havent started paying yet, thank goodness I wont until after the wedding because of grad school). If you dont mind sharing the total amount of loans, the montlhy payments, and the number of years I would greatly apprecaite it. I just dont know how people can pay $1500 in student loans, a mortgage, car payments, save for retirement, and start saving for kids?

I owe about $30,000 and I pay 186 a month. but that is after I consolidated (Nelnet.com @ 3.5%) before that I was paying over $500 a month.

I would def consider consolidating, that may help drop your monthly payment! GL!!!

I owe $30,000 as well which is in deferrment because I am going to school at the moment.

did you consolidate private loans or federal loans?

I think i had both. i had the sub/unsub and ones through a bank

Yea but I heard that Nelnet dosnt give you the 6 month grace period?

i have just under 50000 and i pay 193 ( i usually send them more but that is the minimum due after i consolidated them)

You can only consolidate federal loans (subsidized and unsubsidized.) You can't consolidate private loans. I owe a lot more than that from law school so don't feel bad! I would say your payments will be close to $1,000 per month, but if they are all federal loans it will be less (private loans have a much higher interest rate).

Sorry to crash, but I am wondering the same thing. I will finish school with about 200k in loans (eek, I know) so Hoping I can find a job that pays enough to cover them

i owe about $40K and consolidated with Sallie Mae

I will be paying $186 a month for 30 years - I always pay more each month though

It's good to pay more and make sure you are paying towards the principle so you cut your time in half.

I owe over 60k the best thing I did was consolidate my payments are about 100 a month way less than it was before I consolidated, and always remember as long as you stay on top of your student loan payments, student loan debt is a good debt to have... when it comes to creditors and getting loans later for home car yadda...

I have about 20k in loans, and I pay 150 a month......I am not sure for how long though.......but it is manageable!
