Re: TATTOOS..anyone?
no..i HATE tatoos..bot FH got them and regret them.
me: on my 18th b-day got some design (which my dad says looks like a toyota symbol) on my upper back and then a year later made abet ( sooooo stupid) and lost and added a pink flower to it and i HATE IT!!! and want to CRY now when i think about it! my cousin told me when i first got it that i would regret it on my wedding day..and i sooooo do years later...i get embarassed when it shows and all
FH: he has his 'family crest' with his last name on one leg a HUGE @$$ ugly as all sin dragon on his upper back )ok not THAT big but blahhh) and a T V ( truth & virtue) on hios other leg with flames...that one is the WORST- oh and did i mention he works for cablevision so the 'TV' has a whole new retarded emaning
so NO MORE TATOOS ...THINK real hard before doing it
dont bve like the lady who had a catholic school tatooed across her forehead so she couls get her son in and get $10000

I have a bunch of tattoos, but I wouldn't get my FH's name. Maybe my kids once I have them. I know there are plenty of people that do though.

That is such a bad idea. I wouldn't suggest that to anyone. Life is funny, so be very careful. What happens when you get into an argument, and you hate his guts at that moment. Do you want his name on you body to remind you that you r his property?

I don't really see it as 'being someone's property' at all. It's a tattoo for pete's sake.
If it works for the couple then I say more power to ya. We've nibbled on the idea a bit, but don't particularly like 'name' tattoos, so we're just going to get matching one's instead

NEVER i HATE them. So tacky. I see pictures of girls in wedding dresses or bm dresses and you can see those stupid things, they look so cheap, IMO.

we both have tattoos, but not of each others names. after we're married, we want to get matching ones, but just not sure what.

I already have a small tattoo and I'm not too keen on experiencing that again, so no.

Re: TATTOOS..anyone?
I have 4 tattoos. I have no regrets about getting any of them. I would never get a name of anyone unless they were related by blood. Angelina Jolie had Billy Bob tattooed on her body and that didn't work out too well. I only have/had two issues in regard to the ones I have:
The first issue is that since I am Jewish, I may encounter problems being buried in a Jewish cemetary (though with the cost of funerals being what they are, no funeral home or cemetary would reject a check in such a large amount - trust me) because 'Our Torah expressly prohibits tattoos: You shall not scrape your flesh for a (dead) soul, and tattoos do not put upon you, I am the L-rd (Leviticus 19:28).'
The second issue I had was finding a wedding dress to cover the one between my shoulders. The symbols represent the signs of the zodiac of my parents on the sides(Capricorn and Saggitarius) combined with mine in the middle(Leo). Those signs will never change - my parents will be a part of me forever. The issue of covering it was quickly solved. See below:
have three, I don't think they are tasteless, classless, cheap looking or disgusting, lol
I happen to love mine. None are of my FH name but we do have a matching tattoo that we got with two friends on a trip we all took to Florida.
Mine are all in spots that will be well hidden on my wedding day.
I say go for it if you want it! I personally don't know if I'll get his name or not but thats JMO I am going to get one of mine touched up a bit and make it a bit bigger.
I happen to think they are art!
bellow is my FH arm, this is the tattoo he got when he returned from Iraq in rememberance for a dear friend he lost.
exactly what Lil said. they aren't 'cheap' or 'trashy'..... unless youi only got one to get one. To MOST people thought they get tattoos becuase they MEAN something to them and are ART.
if you want your FH/DH's name, then GET it. my only adive is don't get it in black.

Lil I love that military tattoo. I think it is a wonderful tribute to heroes. I always admire great ink.
I do not think tattoos are trashy or cheap. IMO, to think that a form of body art on the OUTSIDE of a person defines who a person is on the INSIDE is bordering on judgemental. I know the guy who did my navel piercing was one of the nicest people I ever met. He was covered from head to toe with tattoos, piercings and other things that would make most people turn the other way upon first glance. Once you got to talking to him, you couldnt help but realize that he was just like anyone else - perhaps a bit more colorful and less boring.
