Terry Schiavo's parents

Original post by RedHead

Stopped the pursuit to have Terri's feeding tube put back in!

Finally this woman will be at peace...sad but yet comforting

if she was still breathing when she passed out, then yes, the feeding tube should have been given

if the heart and lungs stopped, then no

So do you believe that in a hospital electric shocks should not be administered when a patient's heart stops beating? The doctors should not attempt to resussitate?

But Don..then under this line of thinking..when she passed out should the feeding tube NEVER have been placed in?

Shold we never use any extrodinary means to keep someone or save someone...SINCE that is MAN deciding that it isn't time for the person to die?

if the heart and lungs stopped, then no

her heart stopped i believe...that is why oxygen stopped getting to the brain causing her brain condition!

i am sure when the first incident happened, everyone was so shocked that emotion overode logic.

It's easy to sit back and say she should have been let go.

When you're in the initial shock, it's hard to think rationally

well that is common practice actually...Our society doesn't let people just die. They start CPR immediately and extrodinary means are used ASAP.

In fact it will always be done unless a person has a DNR!

you can't fault that

but YOU can....
AND according to you and your line of thought ...this should NOT be done!
AND hence Terri would have died a decade ago...

I guess in sickness and health means nothing too. Oh no wait it does to Mr. Schiavo he did dedicate some years in taking of her....what a saint, they should name a street after him.

Maybe the vows should be changed to 'In sickness and in health and when brain dead stop taking care of them and move on with your life'...Marriage is a LIFETIME committment, it's not a committment until the person gets brain damaged.

see now those were silly silly comments
unless you lived it you really shouldn't pass judgement

I have the right to say what I want. It's my opinion and it's how I feel about the man and the whole situation.

Back at ya....

Your logic is faulty here, it's another instance of a man-made decision, someone other than God deciding which form of life is worth saving.

Also, the feeding tube is keeping her alive because she cannot feed herself and she has a limited swallowing reflex. So it is, by function, life support.

So the minute someone challenges you and calls your logic faulty you shut down and revert to 'we have to agree to disagree' rather than attempt to back up your statements with facts and reason.

That defeats the entire point of a debate, doesn't it?
