Original post by RedHead

Stopped the pursuit to have Terri's feeding tube put back in!

Michael Schiavo might be callous, but those two men are monsters who murdered innocent people. I don't think that there is any comparison.

'Other woman' is
frightened prisoner

BY HELEN KENNEDY
DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER

CLEARWATER, Fla. - The other woman in the Terri Schiavo case has been trapped in her house for two weeks, desperately worrying about the safety of her children and their father, Michael Schiavo, who is away at his dying wife's side.
Protesters who vilify Jodi Centonze - and warn her she's 'next' - come to the house regularly. So do reporters, including one who has been sitting outside the house for three days straight, though she grants no interviews. There have been death threats, and cops now patrol around the clock.

'It's stressful. She is a prisoner. She's very concerned about Michael and the kids,' said family friend Russ Hyden. 'But she and Michael are trying to maintain whatever's left of Terri's privacy and dignity, so they are staying private.'

Steve Schiavo, one of Michael's brothers who drove down from Levittown, Pa., as the family gathers to see Michael through his wife's death, put it simply: 'She's afraid.'

Centonze, 40, who shares Terri Schiavo's one-time dark good looks, met Michael Schiavo at the dentist's office about 10 years ago. They live together in a quiet suburban development with their two toddlers, a boy and a girl.

She is the Florida-born daughter of an auto mechanic and made her living working at insurance companies.

When they met, Centonze had been divorced after two car accidents in eight months left her in pain and a third car accident killed her father.

Schiavo was about to give up on years of trying different therapies for his wife, whose brain was severely damaged in 1990 when she went 10 minutes without breathing after her heart stopped.

Back then, Schiavo was still on good terms with his in-laws, Bob and Mary Schindler.

'It took Michael a long time to consider the prospect of getting on with his life,' wrote Jay Wolfson, a court appointed guardian for Terri, in a December 2003 report to Florida Gov. Jeb Bush. 'He was even encouraged by the Schindlers to date, and introduced his in-law family to women he was dating.'

Through the years of ensuing court battles and recent media hoopla, Centonze stayed in the background, supporting her boyfriend and visiting his brain-dead wife, even doing her laundry.

'Sometimes I feel as if it's almost a spiritual thing, like Terri sent Jodi to him,' another Schiavo brother, Scott, told The Tampa Tribune.

Why do all of your posts seem so intentionally threatening?

i don't see it that way -- i was reacting to an article

if they sound threatening, it's not intentional

Don't get me wrong...I'm with you on the case itself...And I think the others are missing your point about erring on the side of life. Period-the end.

As for the threats towards Michael, I can't say that I agree with that either.

I think we can all agree on one thing--->the whole thing (for all those involved) is just a horrible sad thing.

Re: Terry Schiavo's parents

At first i thought they should remove the feeding tube and let the poor lady be at peace..

But i started reading up just today on a lot of myth vs reality of her situation (taken from different websites) and i got really sad...some doctors (not all) have commented that she is 'minimally conscious'...she lights up and smiles when her mother speaks (as seen in video footage), and a former nurse at the hospital that took care of her claims she can feel pain..and that she is administered pain medication when needed.

With that being said, and assuming it is true (i don't know 100% the facts, again this is from various sites)...and after reading the following..i just got overwhelmingly sad. I understand her parents feelings...who in the world would be ok knowing their child is starving to death? Seems so inhumane to me. I hope it isn't much longer for her, it really breaks my heart.

Just a small piece of info I read:

MYTH
Death by starvation and dehydration is painless.

REALITY
Florida law does not allow a dog to be subject to death by starvation, so why should Terri, a human being, be sentenced to such a death?

In Wesley J. Smith’s book, Forced Exit, St. Louis neurologist William Burke said:

“A conscious person would feel it [dehydration] just as you or I would. They will go into seizures. Their skin cracks, their tongue cracks, their lips crack. They may have nosebleeds because of the drying of the mucous membranes, and heaving and vomiting might ensue because of the drying out of the stomach lining. They feel the pangs of hunger and thirst. Imagine going one day without a glass of water! Death by dehydration takes ten to fourteen days. It is an extremely agonizing death.”

Did Michael start dating this other woman 5 years into Terri's condition? Or is that just when then met....

I

i am sorry but you are wrong in this...
because the part of her brain that registers pain was destroyed SHE WILL NOT feel pain..THAT IS FACT!

for a conscious person is the key there...although her body will go throuhg the stages she WILL NOT feel anything

and all the parts where you found people/doctors saying that she is reacting.....Those are misleading and false!
