Yeah that movie has always had some strange stories surrounding it. I think someone from Poltergeist #3 died shortly after filming too. I know the girl died before the film was complete. What did she have, does anyone remember?

She actually died of a heart attack. But, I think the issue may have been with her lungs/breathing...but, then I also heard that she died from appendicitis which must be wrong of the cause if death was heart attack.

Re: The movie Poltergeist...isn't it weird that...
Here are asome facts i found:Dominique Dunne, who played eldest daughter Dana Freeling, was strangled by her possessive boyfriend five months after the release of Poltergeist and died five days later. Just 22 years old, she was the daughter of novelist Dominick Dunne and sister of actor Griffin Dunne.
Dunne had been rehearsing lines with an actor friend when her boyfriend showed up, picked a fight and then killed her. To drown out the noise of the two yelling outside, the actor turned up the Poltergeist soundtrack.
During a hiatus from the filming of Poltergeist III, Heather O'Rourke, 12, who played Carol Anne Freeling in all three movies, died from an intestinal blockage that ruptured. She had been ill for about two years, but her mother claimed doctors misdiagnosed her condition. The movie resumed filming, with stand-ins for O'Rourke's part.
O'Rourke was buried in Westwood Memorial Park in Los Angeles, a short distance from Dunne.

Re: The movie Poltergeist...isn't it weird that...
The final cause of death of the Heather O'Rourke (the young blond girl from Poltergiest) was determined to be 'cardio-respiratory arrest' (heart failure and cessation of breathing) secondary to 'septic shock' resulting from a bacterial infection that had started in her small intestine, which had become obstructed. When the intestine burst, the toxins produced by the infection entered her bloodstream and overwhelmed her system within a few hours.During the emergency surgery to save Heather's life, it was discovered that a section of her small intestine was malformed, and probably was the result of a previously unknown birth defect. The narrowed condition (stenosis) of the intestine had been a contributing factor to the formation of the blockage.
It's so sad.

That guy was sooo freaky. I remember when I was younger I always hated to go to the docotor, I would scream because I didn't want to go because my docotor looked like the freaky old man. And my brother used to tease me that it was!!
