Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

Our reception is in Winter Garden as well, and I honestly don't remember thinking the dance floor was too small. I mean, it's small, but it's not too small...does that make sense? But we are only having about 120, so if you're planning to have many more guests than that, it might get tight.

I do like that there is a separate area for the band/DJ so that they are not crowding the dance floor like in a lot of other places.

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

We're having our reception in the Briar Fox room and we were concerned about the DJ being behind our guests. The DJ will have the speakers set up by the entrance so that the noise isn't over our guests but we're also going to try to seat our younger guests over there so that there are no problems. We are expecting under 150 and we had the option between the two rooms but I fell in love with the Briar Fox. I think our guests will have plenty of room to be comfortable.

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

Isn't there a area in the Briar room...to the left, as you walk in where the
DJ/Band can play?

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

I have no clue about the Briar Room, sorry! I actually don't think I've ever even seen it

A question, though....does anyone know the deal with bathrooms at Fox Hollow? I've heard that more than one wedding shares the same bathroom.....

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

I think that might be true with the Briar room and the Garden Terrece, since their is
a bathroom in between the two. But if there is a separate bathroom near
the Winter Garden. I am not sure

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

The DJ sets up near the bar on the left side of the room - that's why I wanted to make sure that the speakers would be set up at the door instead of in front of the DJ.

Thanks for the welcome! I'm so glad that there is a FOX HOLLOW thread!

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

The Winter Garden uses the same restrooms as the other rooms. If I remember correctly, it's right next to the Briar Fox.

So I'm pretty sure we're sharing restrooms.

Anyone hear any remarks about the included wedding cakes? Any wedding I've been to with the cake thrown it always has it tasting like a yodel!

This is a very good question....anyone have an answer? My FSIL got married at Chateau Briand, and from what she's told me, everything the Scotto Bros. touch is gold! I don't think we have anything to worry about, but I am curious to know some particulars....

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

I know Mr. Mel showed me a great selection as far as fillings/flavors, and he said I can give them a photo of something I like & they can duplicate it. (within reason, I'm sure!)

We need someone who is getting married soon, or was recently who can tell us how it tastes.

By the way...

BDB, did you book your flowers with Chris Manuel? I loved him...he gave me some really great idea, especially since at that time, I didn't even have my colors picked out!

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

Did you (or anyone else using them) go for a sample yet? I have to call him at the end of January because he has to wait until he can get hydrangea. I'm using it in my girls bouquets & the centerpieces.

Didn't see any samples yet....not actually sure when I'm going to, but I'd like to ASAP!

How long ago did you book with him? I just did very recently...

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

I booked with him in August or September.

Call him and ask him about seeing a sample. You're getting married 1 month before me and he told me to call at the end of January, so I'm sure he will make an appt for you soon.

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

i just met with chris tonight. it was the first florist i checked out. i had no idea what to expect. he gave me some really great ideas, but we are going to check out others. we will seriously consider using them for the centerpieces, but since they don't deliver i may go elsewhere for everything else.

any body have any other suggestions as far as florists?

Re: The New FoxHollow Thread

The other 2 florists I met with I really wouldn't recommend.....

I've heard good things about Flowers by Burton, Flower Michele, Flowers by Brian....
