Hi Everyone!!! I noticed that there aren't many 2010 Watermill brides out there..so...I am on the hunt! I will start an on going list of all Watermill brides.
Welcome!!! Are you new to planning? Have you gone to any of the showcases yet? I recommend them as a starting point to determine what you like/don't like in vendor work. We ultimately so far have gone with vendors NOT on their list, but the head start we got at the showcase was invaluable! __________________________________
Thanks.. yes, I did start planning. All of my main vendors are booked. I did attend one of their bridal showcases, as well as others at different venues.
I booked Royalty for my Limos...Cassarino for my Photo/Video...Body Rock for the DJ... and just booked Pedestals for the florist...
We're seeing Pedestals next week! I can't wait! I was thrilled when they were added to the vendor list!

=) Try to meet with Nadia. I met with her.. she was amazing!! I felt like I was speaking to my best friend. And after the doubt I had about the first florist I went to speak with.. she put me at ease.

Re: The Offical 2010 Watermill Thread!!!!
We just booked the Watermill for September 4, 2010 in the Vanderbilt Suite and are really excited about it, except for one thing.
Initially we met with Frank, and got a few quotes on paper, but when FH and my dad went to drop a deposit, they met with Brian, who was less than accommodating.
Brian basically told us that the prices that we were quoted were incorrect and that we would need to pay over 15 dollars MORE per person. Needless to say that we were NOT happy about it.
After much discussion and a semi freakout on my part, we were able to get our original price.
Hopefully from here on out everything will go well, but it was a terrible first impression and worries me a little about the actual wedding day.

Re: The Offical 2010 Watermill Thread!!!!
Hi Girls!!
So, as I mentioned in a previous post, I was dealing with Bruce, who I learned is no longer with the Watermill.
Well, I have to go to the Watermill to give another payment, and when I called to set up an appointment, the women told me that I didn't need an appointment to do so. I than explained to her that I was dealing with Bruce, and since he is no longer there, I would like to come in and speak with someone to go over my contract and other questions I have. Once I said that, she transferred me to Brian, the other Banquet Manager.
I spoke with Brian, who was VERY nice!! I am only able to go there Friday after work, and Brian is not there, but he told me that he would give me an appointment with Bob. Brian also told me that if there was anything that I needed or had any questions, that I can contact him and he will be sure to help me.
This put me very much at ease with the whole situation and now I just hope that when I go on Friday, that everything is in order!
I will keep you girls posted!! Hope all is well with everyone and their planning.. KIT!

I've had a good experience with Brian but I'm super easygoing so I think I'd probably be okay with anyone. Samantha is such a doll as well; I have full confidence that between the two of them, everything will turn out well. I like that she's there to pick up on things other than having just the BM!

Great to know! How did you get a new BM? Did you call and they 'assigned' you one? Or you just made an appointment and that is who they gave you?

Hi... We called up the Watermill and told them that we would like to meet with Brian since Bruce is not there any more (FYI: Brian is the Director of Sales). They connected me to him. He said that even though Bruce is gone...everything will still be in place. We asked to meet with him regardless and he was very understanding.
Both BM's we met that day were really great! We are very happy to be working with them. They made me feel much better about everything.

Hello ladies. This is my first post and I have already booked the Watermill for March 6, 2010. Most of you seem satisfied with them, which is very reassuring, putting my mind at ease, because I'm totally stressing out.
Keep it coming, good things or bad!

Re: The Offical 2010 Watermill Thread!!!!
I'm in the Astor. I was at the open house to show my father and FIL's. It looked tiny with all of the people! I'm a little nervous that it's going to be too crowded.

nooooooooo don't be!!! thats my room too!!!
u have to realize the entire dance floor was PACKED w/tables and food an ppl standing room cuz theres over 200 ppl that go to that showcase remember....when the rooms capacity is 200....
and every inch of room where tables normally go is filled w/vendors and displays.....
the way the room looks at the showcase is a HORRIBLE representation for what it will look like as the reception room for ur wedding...
take them on a day when ur just dropping in, look in the astor suite...the dance floor alonee being open makes the room have so much more room!
your wedding wont have tons of vendors and 2x as many ppl as the room can contain....it will have your guests, b/w 150 and 200, that will either be at their tables, or on the dnace floor...its plenty of room!!
DO NOT WORRY!
