I finally booked my honeymoon yesterday! I'm soOooOO excited! We will leave NYC on 07/10 and coming back on the 18th. (Lisa - can you change the date for me on the list? ) We will be staying at the Moorea Pearl Resort in a garden bungalow with private pool for 3 days and then at the Le Meridien Bora Bora in an Overwater Bungalow for 5 days. I can't wait~!
I have a couple questions: 1) Anyone stayed or staying at the Le Meridien in Bora Bora? i think the majority is staying at the Pearl. It was booked so we couldn't stay there. Feedbacks please! 2) How do we make reservations for the Dinner show at Hotel Bora Bora, Bloody Mary's and Villa Mahana? Do i need to call or can i do it via email? Hayley - Did you just email Villa Mahana with the date? 3) KandE917 - I'm staying at the Moorea Pearl in a garden pool bungalow. Do i just email them or call them requesting rooms #228 or 229? (thanks for the tip! ) 4) I want to get a tattoo while i'm there! Anyone else thinking of getting one? My FH gives me the dirtiest looks everytime i mention it! But i want one!!!
Thanks girls~! Although it was to go on this honeymoon i know it's going to be worth every penny! (too bad it's pennies that i don't have! )
yay! ok, i'll update your dates! To make reservations for Villa Mahana, just email them ( the email address provided by Hayley) as far as tattoos, i think it would be really awesome but i don't think i will end up getting one. i would really like matching ones.. my fi thinks its a cool idea too

All those ladies going to French Polynesia..... did you book the honeymoon through a travel agent or did you do it yourselves? My FH thinks that if we price it out ourselves we can save some money.

We went through Liberty Travel in Rocky Point and used Christina..She was awesome. She made sure we got all the HM packages and we saved a lot of$$$$$$$$$

I also used Liberty Travel (Flushing branch). My travel agent was Mark. We had some drama (well i had) due to the fact that we booked fairly late for a honeymoon like this. There was a point where i thought we weren't going to be able to go (airfare had gone up $1300 per person overnight!! ) But in the end it worked out really well! We ARE going and got a really good deal! (Although we did lose out on 1 day). My FH and i also were planning to book our own trip but with there being different islands it gets rather complicated. I say spare yourselves the headache and use a travel agent! It's not that much of a difference. HTH!

Re: The Official 2007 French Polynesia Thread
we were going to book through Claudia at Pacific For Less. we got a great quote through her but then ended up booking the trip on our own last minute for about the same price.
we would have booked through her out of convenience but we were able to get a discount at the Bora Bora Nui through a friend, so we decided to book on our own since we heard the Nui was a bit nicer than the hotel that was offered by Claudia!
booking the flights on our own was pretty easy, you can book your flight to tahiti as well as the inter-island flights at once through air tahiti.
but if we hadn't gotten the discount, definitely we would have booked through a travel agent!

That's exactly why I would prefer to go through an agent. Thanks!

I'm excited to say that FH and I will be dining at Villa Mahana when we are at Bora Bora! I emailed Damien and he replied back to me with a date of July 14th! (Hayley - It's your wedding day! Thanks for all your help!) I hope we get the seating with the nice views.... Either way...i'm really excited. Now that the honeymoon is booked i want to skip the wedding and just go! Hahaha!

Re: The Official 2007 French Polynesia Thread
Ok I just downloaded Air Tahiti's flight schedule for 3/25/07-10/27/07 and I read through it-it says that the Mon direct flight on TN 333 will only operate from 6/17 - 8/31-So, I gather the Monday direct flights from JFK to Papeete are only operating during the busiest months of June, July and August. This explains why everyone traveling during the other months was told the Monday direct flights were cancelled and those of us traveling in June, July and August haven't been notified and have therefore been very confused.
