Re: The official JERICHO TERRACE thread
In regards to the wine and cheese lounge, I just was there the other day giving one of my bms a tour and Anthony, one of the bms told us its open alll day for guests of the receptions. He goes, 'you can come here, get plastered and then go to the ceremony if youd like' lol. This was acutally one of the big things that sold me on JT besides me loving everything else...I have a lot of ppl from Brooklyn, Staten Island and Suffolk who are not further enough to have hotel rooms for the night but also definately to far to go back home in between so this was very important to me.

Hello everyone! I've been recommended to peek my head over here. I'm a upcoming JT Groom (that's right, my FB is just sitting back and relaxing), with a date locked so far at 9/5/10 hehe. I'm brand new to all this wedding stuff myself, but I'm trying to learn as much as I can as soon as possible. God help me.![]()
Anywho, I have a few small concerns that I posted on my other thread, though my main worry has been reports that some couples have had wedding ceremonies at the Jericho Terrace and they were able to hear music from other receptions. I'm very scared at the idea of this.. scared for my ceremony and scared for the inhabitants of the Jericho Terrace at the time if something like this happens!![]()
:D
Hi! Im no help with this one but just wanted to say Welcome...Im sure another past JT bride can help you out

Ditto!! We walked into the lounge and were sold for that exact same reason.

Re: The official JERICHO TERRACE thread
Oh you all have already been quite helpful to me! :) The next major decision we have to make is for our DJ and I saw a lot of recommended vendors here in this thread on my quest to the last page! The DJ is absolutely crucial to us because I have a sizeable Puerto Rican family coming in, her family loves those line dances, and we have friends who are into club and techno! I need a master of it all hehe.

I am using MRG. I have a big West Indian family and music is very important to me and they have a great vibe and we also are having a percussionist for cocktail hour.

Ah, I am excited. I will be able to attend the Showcase that JT is hosting on the 18th of March. Sounds great. I won't even have to take any time off from work! I hope to see some of the DJs in action!

Oooo. Starlight Express. I will -definitely- keep an eye out for them at the showcase and see if I schedule some talking time with them, thank you! I just can't wait! I know it's over a year away, but if I can keep working on the details of the wedding, I won't have any time to sit idle and go crazy!

I was planning on mentioning this on the reception cards, like 'wine and cheese lounge open immediately following ceremony'...so they know. Is that something that you were thinking of doing as well?

Yes definitely! I'm not sure how it will be worded but it's something we def want to have on there. I could just see everyone standing around after the church like now what meanwhile we chose the reception hall partially for the sake of the lounge lol. This is something we can def get back to each other on

Re: The official JERICHO TERRACE thread
Oh, here's another question (I know, I'm full of them!) for anyone who may know. :) The Jericho Terrace recommended for me to block rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn. Other than La Quinta, would there happen to be any other nearby hotels that I should also look into blocking off?

Re: The official JERICHO TERRACE thread
Do you know if you have to put a deposit down to block off rooms? And what if those rooms don't get booked? Do you have to pay for them?

no deposit and no you dont pay for any of it. Its free, only your guests pay. Guests HAVE to book their room at least a month before your wedding bc exactly a month before your wedding date, whatever rooms didnt get booked then they release them to the public again

So, I have been thinking that I wont get a discounted rate for my guest because I have hardly any OOT guests and maybe only 3-4 rooms will be used...so since I wouldnt have to pay for the extra blocked off, can I just block 10 so guests can get the discounted rate and then a month before, they will be released, no big deal? I am just worried they will add the difference of the regular rate to my guests bill or even charge me for the extra rooms. In fact, Hilton Garden I think told me I coudnt even block off rooms if it was less than 10.
Thanks!
