The Official Woodbury Country Club Thread

Since it seems like there are more and more of us every day, I figured I would start a thread dedicated to us WCC brides and those future WCC brides who just don't know it yet!

For those of you getting married there, which room are you using? I'm using the Garden Suite. I just hope that we can have our ceremony and cocktail hour outside since we don't get a separate CH room!

I am using the Garden Suite too... yes, I hope the weather holds up so the cocktail hour can be outside... that was one of the reasons I wanted the upstairs room but it was booked already

Any other Woodbury CC brides out there??

I was just married at WCC on October 18, 2003. I used the Mills Room for reception and the outdoor Pond area for my ceremony. It was a little bit chilly, but so beautiful! If anyone has any questions about that area let me know Also I have TONS of picts of the other side. My wedding was at 7PM, they let us show up at 4 for pictures and we used the garden area.... Dont worry there was no other wedding going on at the time. In fact they kicked me out when the other bride showed up

Another WCC bride here! We aren't having the ceremony there, we are using the Garden Suite because we wanted the outdoor cocktail hour!

Ali-- you looked beautiful, you also had a gorgeous day, the grounds looked stunning!!! Congrats!!!

Question for the other WCC brides: have you all thought about where you're going to have your pictures done if it's raining? I really want to take outdoor pics because the grounds are so beautiful, but I worry about the ability to take pics if it's lousy outside. I have a very tight schedule because our ceremony is at 12 noon and we have an 11:30 invite. We are doing all of our pics first and want to be done before 11:30. I don't want to be running around all morning between WCC and some other place taking pictures. What are you all planning on doing?

hi all - i'm a wcc bride too! (10/11/03) We had the downstairs room but had cocktail hour inside (the room has a divider and they set up the smaller half for the cocktail hour) I didn't want it outside because I felt there would be too much wandering around by my guests. It worked out fine (just a few people came outside for cocktail hour while we were taking our pictures). What I didn't like and what can't be avoided is that because there is no smoking inside (thank you Mr. Pataki), a large amount of my guests were outside during the reception - it is inevidable - once they were drinking, the smoking increased and since it was a nice day, they just stayed out there much longer than i would have liked. (i smoke too, but only stepped out once) I know I couldn't control everything but in some way, this bothered me. I have some pictures posted on the review board! I loved the place and had an unbelievable day!

Jannshari - the 'lounge' area on the 2nd floor is really beautiful. My friend, who got married there about a year ago, had to take her picts inside because it was raining, and they came out beautiful!

Jann - I was wondering about the same thing.. I guess it would have to be pics indoors unless someone knows of any area close to the WCC.. I have A LOT of time in between my Church and reception. Church is at 2 pm, Cocktail Hour starts at 7:30.. I am coming from Brooklyn so that will kill a lot of time but I still would have a lot of time left if we couldn't take pics outside
