Being the center of attention doesnt freak me out whatsoever, its when I'm alone that I stress and get anxious and make up a million illogical hypothetical situations in my head!

How are you going to be at your own wedding!??!

SSSSHHHH we dont like to think about that.. FH is a social mess too..

But to answer the question... ALCOHOL.. Well a lil...

As for the other questions no i havent been to a therapist., so I have self diagnosed myself.. But i fear doctors and pills.. im a mess... haha

The worst was having a panic attack at work.. and them thinking it was a heart attack.. and all these people crowding me.. which made it soo much worse.. and then all these EMTs showing up and taking me to the ER since my pulse was racing soo badly they couldnt count my pulse.. EEEK. I didnt work for a week cause i was afraid of having to explain it too them.

I guess im jumping into this topic late but.. My name is Jessica.. And I have an Anxiety Disorder...

Not only do I have the regular worry about everything all the time anxiety, I also have social anxiety.. Which BLOWS.. And because of that I cant make more friends.. I cant get a promotion at my job cause they will make me teach.. and worst of all I WILL PROBABLY NEVER ATTEND A GTG

Oh no! That makes me sad. Not even a small one? I don't have social anxiety so I don't really know what it entails. I thrive on social situations b/c I get lonely and depressed very easily when I'm alone!

Ok maybe i wont stop posting..

Im not sure if i would ever get up the courage to go to a GTG, when i get into social situation where i dont know anyone I dont speak to anyone, and if i do people usually see me as rude cause i never can say the right things. Its like my brain shuts off and all this crap spews from my mouth. Then i get all worried cause i think people are saying 'wow shes a bi*tch'.. Perhaps if i talk to someone enough to feel comfortable with them and then they drag me there so I at least have one person to hide behind, and whom I can talk too when i feel like noone likes me I would go.

You are not at all. But personally, I do think you may want to see a dr for it. If it is interfering with your life, that cant be good for you. But you are definitely not a basket case or crazy or anything. LOts and Lots of people suffer from social anxiety. Its nothing to be assamed of.

Please don't fear going to a therapist or taking medication, it really is ok and once you get past that it will make a huge difference. Honestly if fh didn't see a therapist and take medication then I can just imagine what he would be like and don't even want to think about that. Even going to a therapist and taking medication there are still times things arent great but alot better than if he didn't do anything.

I understand its hard at first to do this, listen he's been going for 15 years and on medication for the same amount of time and even when he has downfalls he hates having to go to the therapist, only because he just hates of always having to deal with this...When he feels great he goes every few months so when he has to go regularly he hates the thought of it, not bc he hates going just what he deals with...But then right after he goes he feels so much better and always says that his doctor really puts things in perspective and always walks out feeling alot better.

If you ever want to talk about any of this or want recommendations or to get more info in general about medication, about a therapist or what you go through then feel free to FM me anytime. This is something I have come to learn alot about and have had to do alot of research and really learn how to deal with this for him.

It is great how people, like ourselves, are willing to admit they have a life altering disorder/symptoms. Maybe it is a sign that times are changing and people are willing to be more open, honest and accepting.

Another anxiety girl right here.

Plus I really only have like 2 really good friends

Lots of girls that I talk to often but don't consider them true friends.

I feel blah today also

I totally hear this...but when I feel down about stuff like this I try to remind myself of that saying like you are truly blessed when you have 2 good friends rather than so many aquaintances...or however that goes I do get like this and I feel bad for FH when he has to deal with me...do ya think it is just b/c we are females? We think far too much and overanalyze. Sometimes I do You girls are not alone though..for sure...

Honestly, mostly everyone I know suffers from anxiety, in one degree or another. I used to think I was the only one, but if you're willing to talk about you will quickly find out that you are not alone!

People really shouldn't be ashamed...FH tells everybody he doesn't care, he told me within the first week I met him. Its part of who he is, and when he told me i was just like ok fine it really wasn't a big deal to me. Most people are accepting and won't look at it in a bad way, usually its the person themself who is just embarassed about it. It also helps when people are open about it because then people around them know why they do certain things and they will know how to handle the situation better.

Hey.. I just read basically the original post ans a few of the last posts.. i just didnt have time to read it all, but didnt want to NOT respond. I hope that you cheer up, you are a funny girl, dont liet whatever is buggin you keep you down for too long.

just want to add too that itsgood to combine therapy with medication. It makes sense, medication can only do so much you also need to learn how to handle yourself and to deal with situations.

I could escalate this conversation to about 10 pages more if I kept on posting all of my issues!

Everytime I responded to one there were 5 new ones! Hard to keep track.

Maybe we can just start a new ongoing topic called 'Dear Denise' and you can answer all of our questions
