We need to keep things positive!! We are all approaching our wedding dates, so lets take what really p i sses us off and turn it around and laugh about it!!

My BM, who cannot afford to bring her fiance from TX, asked to bring 2 dates, her mom and bro...so her whole fam....

Sure thing...I just need to take a trip to the money farm!

FMIL said she can't make her hair appointment any earlier than 1:30pm because of 'the emotions of the day'.

She is supposed to be ready to go for pictures at 2 pm !

I will show her some emotions all right!!!!!!!!1

while interviewing prospective photographers I asked if photog could air brush certain pics to cover unsightly moles and freckles on my arms, my gown is sleeveless.

He said it would be easier for him if I just got a dress with sleeves.

uh

My Nanny (love her dearly) asked me why I don't just have the wedding where my sister had hers (2 blocks from where my uncle lives) so that he can just walk there again

YES- let me make it really convenient for ONE PERSON!!!

Uhhmm..Ever hear of a car, or taxi, or other family members..OR :gasp: dont get sh!tfaced so that he can actually drive himself

I had a similar conversation...

FH lives in the Bronx, and other than his parents, 1 uncle, and 1 of his father's cousins (who we call aunt), all of his relatives live in Queens or LI. Since I live in Queens, we decided to have the church in Queens and the reception in Great Neck.

This aunt who is FH's father's cousin doesn't have a car, so she complained to us that we're having the wedding too far away and we should have had it in the Bronx so she could attend more easily. I honestly couldn't believe she had the gall to say that!

So I suggested that perhaps she could ride to the church in the limo that'll be picking up FH and his parents...and she said, 'But how would I get to the reception?' I think she was expecting to be in the limo for the entire day, so FH quickly stepped in and suggested that his uncle who lives in the Bronx or another family member could drive her to the reception and then home.

She shut up after that. But God forbid one of her 2 daughters actually spend the money to cross the bridge to bring her home...

i seriously love you girls- this is the best thread ever!!!

Mine is pretty funny- FH and I have been together about 5 years and i've known his cousin the whole time but she always calls me by the wrong name- she calls me Maribel not Marybeth

So she gets the STD and it says our names on it and she calls up FH and she says to him- how come on the save the date it says you are marrying marybeth? did you & maribel break up..

fh has tried to explain to her a million times what my name is- so he's bored with it- so he told her that the company spelt my name wrong on the std and that yes he is marrying maribel

LMAO that is by far the funniest thing i have heard today! omg i counldn`t imagine being called the wrong name all that time!

omg some of these are so funny!!!

I don't really think anything that has been said to me compares....

One of my BMs asked me if I was inviting a particular person who I am not (we've had a really rocky past and it's a long story but we are not good friends now either) and when I said no, she suggested that I could invite her to the ceremony but not the reception as a mid-ground. I think that is way more offensive than not inviting the person at all, plus I'm getting married AT MY HALL!

I don't know if anyone will think that this is weird but I do....
My FH was talking to his mom (FMIL) and he told her that they needed to work on picking out a song to dance to at the reception. She told him that she wanted to dance to Ave Maria since she's always liked that song.....does anyone else think that that is a strange song choice?

ok my funny story would have to be FH`s grandma....she`s a trip! first she argued with me about the guest list....she wants her sister invited who lives in Florida. that FH barely remebers and i met once! ok not a problem! i have given in a lot for other people so whats one person for her.....she proceeds to then tell me that she knows she wont show up!!!!!!!

same person diffrent situation......
we were discussing the wedding at a family BBQ over the summer. (again the guest list came up) but this time some one mentioned the bar. they simply asked if there would be open bar and she flipped!! insisted that we should not have it. tried to use the excuse that it will be cheaper for us with out it but after much disscussion we came to realize it is just because she is against drinking and is worried that the divorced familes wont mix well with alcohol!!!

why can`t people just let me be!

We weren't planning on it...we're getting married at Flowerfield so I think we're just gonna do something pretty traditional but it def won't be Ave Maria now!
