unhappy with my Police Officer... i mean FH

hes being a huge ARSE!!!!!!!! he let me know last night that he REFUSES to wear a wedding band to work. he's a police officer in south jamica and he claims that he will be the only one wearing a wedding band cuz 'you know meg if i upset a hoodlum he gets my name off my name tag looks me up in the computer then comes to KILL YOU!' mind you this arguement went on in a resturant i was so hurt and upset i started to cry and he told me i just dont know what its like to be a police officers wife and i need to understand. but i just DONT UNDERSTAND thats the dumbest thing ive ever HEARD... then he said ' fine ill wear it and i hope you live and they dont come to kill you' i was soooo crushed when he said that! HOW COULD ANYONE SAY THAT???? non of the guys he hangs out with wear their wedding bands but i have my own theory behind that but am i overreacting??? or would you be hurt also??? my come back was well then im not wearing my E-Ring cuz thats a symbol to the world that i have a fiance and he got all pissed. but i feel that its the same thing! please help!

can he wear it on a chain around his neck? i am not sure - his argument sounds kind of dumb to me but i have NO IDEA if that really happens or if that is a risk

FH may not wear HIS ring bc its 'annoying' at least yours is trying to protect you!

i am sure he thinks that he is doing the best thing - sorry that you are upset

PS you have to let me know where he gets stationed bc i work down there and i need to get to know ALL the cops in the area LOL seriously i may request armed escort to my car!

my fh says he can't wear his because it is a 'safety issue' he is a super for a construction company i am like 'yeah you sit in a trailer all day'

dumb *** so i told him i am not wearing mine...

My FH said he cant wear jewelery and he doesnt even know how he will even get it on his finger for the ceremony.

He cant wear things on his fingers, he cant wear shirts with no collar, like t-shirts, they have to button down.
Ummm what else, he has to wear his socks inside out cause he hates the feeling of it the right way.

As long as he wears it when hes not working i would be happy with that

Personally, I'm not a fan of the guys not wearing their rings. My FH said he was worried about damaging his ring at work (he works outdoors with alot of machinery). I told him that was fine, but then he would need to get a ring tatto around his left ring finger.

(about the medical field i understand but you can wear a plain band if you look in my album i got a plain band instead of my diamond so i can wear gloves im in the medical field also!)

Totally not trying to take his side, because I agree its a symbol of your love and he should wear it, however I understand his point in case he honestly doesn't want you to get hurt. Its sick to even think about that this could happen, but we live in a world where it can.

I know my uncle works as an armed guard at a jail and he will NOT wear his band, or even carry pictures of his family in his wallet, because that can happen...

Would you be ok with him wearing it around his neck?

absolutley i would be but i feel thats so much more dangerous sinc ethey get into a lot of altercations and i would be terrified of them pulling it and strangeling him! thats worse

i guess i just need to suck it up!

Exactly! I said no problem if your ring gets damaged. Either we'll start off with a fancy one and a regular one or if we start off with just one, we'll replace it if it gets that bad.
