UPDATED AT BOTTOM --- NO KIDS @ WEDDING.. IS THERE ANY WAY TO
nicely say in the invite that there are no children allowed. my problem here is that FHs two cousins are thinking about bringing FIVE kids between the two of them (umm hellooo over my dead body thanks) We were thinking of maybe putting a cute poem about the fact that we dont want any rugrats there but arent sure how to word it. These are actually the only two people we might have a problem with as everyone else with kids WANTS TO HAVE A NIGHT OUT. I was trying to come up with a cute saying but cant seem to get the words. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

I already ordered my invitations and I didnt put anything on them. Im specifically writing ech name thats invited on the envelope, and Im depending on word of mouth. My family is very close so it should be easy.

You could just say how you regret not being able to have everyone but due to your budget you cannot afford to pay for the children as well. They should understand when you address it to them and don't add 'and family' but I know some parents don't get it.

that is a good question!
FH and I made it perfectly clear to our guests (the one's we've spoken to anyway) that there will be no kids (only 2 will be there and they are teens).
I'm not so sure about putting it on the invite though. We're planning to address the envelopes to just the parents. if I get any RSVP's with kids on them, either I or FH will need to make phone calls.

I wouldn't bank on people getting the hint about writing the names on the envelopes, I have read too many times about people disregarding it.
If it is really important, maybe you could write 'adult reception' on the reception cards.
I think I made it perfectly clear that I didn't want any kids from the get-go, not even in the BP, but we'll see.

I love the response cards that read:
The favor of a reply is requested by ____.
___ seats have been reserved in your honor.
Accepts ____ Regrets ____
Number attending____

you know.... if you feel like it will be such an issue, you might want to get these response cards even though you have yours already. It might be worthwhile and would save you future aggrevation. Something to consider.

I think its safe to say that I won't have to worry about this at my wedding.
But the above quote gets post of the week honors. This is an EXCELLENT idea... something I never thought of.

I might look into getting those even though I already got my invites. I ran it by FH and he still thinks his cousins will not get the idea! thats bad!!!

I do not want children at my wedding either. I am thinking of putting adult reception on invitation. Because I don't think FH family will get the point otherwise.

I sent out a little note in my save the dates...indicating that we have decided not to invite children to the wedding.

Well I had this problem for my E-Party...I specifically wrote Mr and Mrs....not XXX Family and people brought their kids anyway. We are considering writing on the invite 'Adult Reception' to avoid this problem for our wedding

FH is going to have to talk to these two people I think because he is really adamant about having no children at the wedding. I feel as though if its going to cause hard feelings then just let it be but he really doesnt seem to care what they think

Re: NO KIDS @ WEDDING.. IS THERE ANY WAY TO
I put 'Adult Reception to follow' on my invites just to be safe. I had seen that quote about # of seats reserved after my invites were ordered and I love that!! But when i asked FH if we should get them re-printed, he said it was too much to put adult reception and ALSO put #seats reserved. He's so much nicer than me.
But I think he's right. It probably best to do one or the other.
