dont let that get you down.
Ive seen lots of weddings without flowers, I worked in a catering halls for six years. so I should know. Ive talked to you and I know your really cool girl. your wedding is going to be beautiful.

Dont even think about flowers you dont want them dont get them its your wedding. they have a problem, I'll kick their @ss.

p.s. the bar makes a wedding not the flowers

Flowers are NOT what makes a wedding special. What makes a wedding special is You and your Honey! In all the planning hoopla - we seem to forget WHY we are spending all of this money and driving ourselves crazy....
Marriage is a vow to spend the rest of your life with your soulmate!
Marriage is not a vow to put yourself in major debt! Remember - It will be the first day of the rest of your lives together - so why spend as much as you would in a lifetime, on only the first day?
Don't worry - It will be Super Special without flowers!!!

I am not sure I know anyone who has had a wedding at JT that was 2nd class. 2nd class would imply you couldn't even THINK about having an affair at a nice reception hall. Don't go over board, do what you can. We are all crunched and on budgets and flowers are certainly NOT what makes the event!!! I agree with previous posts that it is the music and the people (oh yeah and the booze, with booze people rarely remember the food since they are just wolfing it down!!!!)
Don't fret and if you feel that you need something on the table their are plenty of great (and cheap) ideas on this site!

don't let anyone else dictate what your wedding should be! floral arrangements are nice, but thats about it. I don't think it makes or breaks a wedding.

The friend that told me 'flowers make the wedding'..........her mother paid for EVERYTHING. Right down to the groomsmen tuxes! She didn't have to buy one thing! Not even gifts for her attendants.

I bought my pillar candles at crate and barrel, they were not exp. at all. We have a crystal bowl for the center piece, I just don;t know what to put in it. I was leaning toward petals now, maybe burgandy and orange?

the bride and groom make the wedding. the food and music are second, flowers arent in the top 10! ive been to tons of weddings w/o floral centerpieces

well of course your friend could make such an off-handed comment like that to you, since she didn't have to put out her own money. If she had to do it on her own, I don't think she would have had the nerve to even say something like that. It was a bit insensitive of her. grrr on her!

U know those colored marbles you can put in a fish bowl? Maybe something like that with just a few petals to cut the cost...I just checked ebay for colored marbles and you can get a whole bunch of them for like $5!!!

you need to do what is best for your situation..if that means spending thousands on flowers or none at all...its what you feel is right for YOU!!

FH doesnt even like to buy me a bouquet of flowers because he thinks its a waste of money-- he says ' why spend money on something that is going to die next week'
I totally understand that the stigma is flowers, etc. but its not about that, and if these people are so shallow to not realize that the reason you are getting married is not to show off who has more money, but because the two of you LOVE each other.... then they shouldnt come.

YOU dont have to do floral. If you want to though you dont have to go to a florist. GO to a wholesale florist, theres a ton in the city. Buy your own flowers but buy a flower that you can just put in the vase and let it set on its own and it will look good. Theres also wholesale supplies. I didnt want to spend alot on flowers for e-party so i bought 12 vases for $85 total for all of them. Then i bought flowers that were enough for about 15 tables or so, we had about 140 guests and it was just a few hundred dollars, not even close to $500 to give you an idea.

The type of flowers i bought youre able to just put in the vase and however they fall it looks fine.

how many guests are you having? i can probably tell you how to get flowers for maybe around $500

if not then do lots of candles and rose petals and you should be fine

You dont need flowers! If you really want, do what Im doing. Im ordering bunches of tulips and sticking them into bud vases. Im not even doing it to save money- im doing it cus I dont want traditional centerpieces. But yes- it is saving me money. Your wedding will be great! And do what you want to do not what you think people want you to do!
