my lunches are paid for every day(I've literally bought my own lunch 4 times since I've been here)

Cool events all the time (yesterday was SPA day and I got a massage and a facial paid for by my company)

great benefits

If I'm not busy, I leave work whenever I want

I get bumped up to 5 weeks vacation starting next week

Unlimited sick days

Well I am not working now, but from what I know from other people in publishing, we all kind of had the same goodies.

Free and significantly discounted books. Free admission to museums. Transitchek. Medical, dental , 401K, stock options,

Casusal work atmosphere. You can wear jeans all the time.

I forgot we get the week of Christmas to New Years off - Paid.

And we get a good amount of sick days and Vacation days.

When im not stressed out, and pissed off at the fact that I am still working here, I realize that this office is very laid back...People can get up and talk to other people.

Some places I have gone to for interviews are so quiet...you can hear a pin drop.

Oh yeah, a lot of publishing companies do this. My old company did this and I know friends elsewhere who do as well.

ETA:

I'm in publishing, but we dont' get off the week between Christmas & New Year's off. but we get 2 days for CHristmas & 2 fopr New Year's.

All in all it is not so bad here.
We get:
summer fridays (every other friday off between m-day and l-day)
3 weeks vac
free water and soda
everyday is dress down day
and on fridays we have this thing called the drink trolly (at 4:30 we all go to the 16th and have a few cocktails)
oh and we have a pool table on one of the other floors.

tutition reimbersement
on site clinic, no co pays
half days the day before a holiday

It all sounds great till you find out I am an accoutant, I put in a lot of time in the winters and some other busy times, but for now it's working for me.

my boss buys us lunch a couple times a month, she always brings back gifts from her trips and she is extremous generous with both out christmas presents and bonuses. Last year she bought us all diamond initial necklaces.

we have dress down fridays...last friday, at 4pm, she broke out a bottle of champagne and since there was only three of us her (her, me and our receptionist), we were drinking! I know...crazy...but that is a rarity.

ummm...none?

I get 50% off Hallmark stuff, but I have to go to a store, get the stoock #, and phone order it, also putting it on a halmark credit card. That's too much work, and besides where I work, and all of the hallmark stuff is 50% off for anyone. The only time it would be good is christmas for the ornmanets, but they don't even TAKE phone orders in december, so I'd have to MAIL the order in. Too complicated.

At Kaplan i got a free Kaplan course, but I didn't get much out of it (partially the teacher's faultm partially my fault)

At my old job when I was in sales it was definitely the dinners and tix to Yankee games! That's about it though!

Now...absolutely freakin' nothing!!!

At MLB we had a card to get us into every ML stadium, I was responsible for tixs for all teams so I could get free tixs wherever/whenever I wanted; we always got free sneaks from Nike, Starter jackets, MAJOR t-shirts & caps, all the WS & ASG merchandise, the week from Xmas to New Years, offices set up on an actual baseball diamond carpet, very laid back, pinball in the lobby, & many dinners out w/ players & such. (I miss that job!!!)

Why did you leave!?!??!?!

We dont really have any perks besides free coffee/tea/water....but I have the best boss. HE gives me bonuses and gifts out of his own pocket. Then he wonders why I dont want to leave this department to move up!
