the place I'm looking at offered a chocolate fountain! I thought that was a joke! am I being unrealistic in expecting something more since they won't take money off?

My hall didn't give me anything extra. You should be happy they offered you a chocolate fountain. March is usually their bottom line pricing, so they can't do much.

I got....unlimited wine bottles being put constantly on the tables throughout the night, an ice sculpture, an espresso/cappuccino/coffee station, ice cream bar and a chocolate fountain.

I think it is unrealistic to EXPECT that they will throw in something. If they do, it's nice, but you can't go in expecting it or you will be disappointed.

This. You will most likely have to pay for most upgrades, but if you get something thrown in it is a bonus. It doesn't hurt to ask.

A chocolate fountain was about a $3 per person upgrade at WM. I think that is great but personally something that would not interest me. What are you looking for them to include?

You also mentioned that you haven't booked yet. A lot of things get 'thrown in' once you are closer to your date. For example if they are using the ice sculptor for another event they can throw one in for yours, or if they will have the ice cream bar set up for something else, you will be able to have it as well.
Also you are using an all inclusive place, right? They probably have even less wiggle room, because they have to pay the vendors too.
Don't worry about every little detail, it will all work out in the end, and you won't even notice if something doesn't go exactly as planned.

fh doesn't eat reg cake so he liked it but I don't like it either! I. would like Italian cookies and some pasteries I think in stead but was also hoping they could throw in the remaining 10 centerpieces I would need. and I'd not both then instead of the choc fountain id rather have centerpieces.

I think asking for 10 extra centerpieces would be expecting a lot.
We got our hall to include a small table with pastries, cookies and fresh fruit. We originally wanted it per table but they did on one table at the edge of the dance floor.

the choc fountain I.believe it's $3 pp also so that's $600' they quoted me $65 each extra centerpiece that's $650 that's where and why I said I rather have centerpieces

That's so funny because my place threw in a dessert tray of italian cookies and I was wondering how to get the chocolate fountain! I'm not complaining though. I think most of my family will prefer the dessert trays. That was the only thing my RH 'threw in' and it was an incentive to get us to book b/c they only included it if we booked within 2 weeks of touring the place. IMO, I'm getting a ton of food options at CH (35 passed hors d'oeuvres + 4 stations) and during the reception (7 dinner options with guests being allowed to go back for seconds), so I don't feel like I need anything else thrown in. I noticed that some people's 'extras' were things my RH already included.

This!! I looked at quite a few places and the one we booked had some things that were upgrades at other places.
There are trade offs with every RH, you have to decide your priorities no hall will have it all, but if it's perfectly you than it's perfect for you.
