Who take advantage of the system? Meaning all of the agencies who help those .. and it makes me sick to see MY taxes paying for people who don't need the help when there are so many people out there that do!
I think there should be a hotline to report these people!

IM all for anyone that needs help to get it but it burns me when I see people that are able bodied, wearing more expensive clothes than I do and paying with food stamps!!!

I agree. I was in the supermarket over the weekend, and their was this family in front of me. They were dressed to the nines! The woman had a COACH bag, the cutiest outfit on. The husband was all decked out. Their baby had the cutest baby clothes on. I mean I don't know the labels, but you can tell they all had expensive clothes on. So I am on line behind them trying to figure out what is taking so long and I see them dividing their order up. So I am like, what????? Then I realize they are paying with WIC! I mean come on! These people did not look like they needed help! Meanwhile, here I am counting my change, cutting up my coupons, wearing my sweats! Something was definitely wrong with that picture! In a few years, I am going to have to pay for my babys milk and cereal! URGH!

Why can't people just get jobs and stop complaining about the system not giving them enuff cash! Pathetic Trash these people are.

T-you should find out if there is a number and report the people if you know their names or where they shop
I used to work in a supermarket and people would use food stamps and WIC in Massapequa, a nice area and have gorgeous jewelry and LV bags, etc...... how do they do it???

I had a friend, and I stress HAD, that has been on unemployment for close to 7 months and has been working as a waitress off the books. She's making more money that I am right now between her unemployment checks and the waitressing job. It completely infuriates me.

I agree. I see this all the time. It's ridiculous. And how about people who don't do anything, just sit around and then have a super nice apartment that WE pay for.

LIZ I used to know people like that! USED to. I never went back b/c all I kept thinking is my Dad busted his A$$ to get us what we have now and you slumbs don't do crap and have just as good things as we do???

i know someone who needs food stamps and help and she can't get it, she has three kids, a 7 yr old, 4 yr, and a 2 yr old, she was abused by her husband and desperatly needs food for her kids, and people that don't need it are the people who get help.

I used to work for LILCO we had people come in with payment vouchers from the state to have the bill paid and the lights turned back on. Then they went in the parking lot to leave in their Jaquar, BMW. Lexus, etc. We could not believe it!!

For a person to collect unemployement they had to have work for at least a decent period of time and therefor they have paid their share of taxes and money into the system so they are in fact getting their own money back.

They have to work 3mts and they can collect for 12 mts. So that isn't correct YOUR taxes for 3mts won't equal the amount of being paid for 12mts. Plus I didn't ask you!

Or, like my former friend, they can get a job off the books and collect double. The check and a salary! There are just too many loopholes, and too many things that can be missed with the unemployment system. There are a lot of people that deserve it, but sooo many more that rip the system off and get away with it!
