Re: What does everyone do for a living???
I have my Masters degree in Silversmithing - anyone need a teapot hammered out of sterling?
After I got out of school I had my own business doing fashion jewelry for several years, then decided to get out of the fashion industry so I worked in:
Sports Marketing
Video Production (training films, infomercials)
Food Broker - office manager / customer service
Food Manufacturer - customer service, sales support manager and now asst. marketing manager and product manager.

Re: What does everyone do for a living???
Well I was recently laid-off, but when I was working I was in the executive search industry, working as an office Manager. All I know now is I want out of that industry all together! Thankfully I have great contacts so I should be able to land something soon!

Re: What does everyone do for a living???
Today I work for Charles Schwab in tech product development (I'm on the business side managing the products and our tech partners). My focus has been on advice products (you'd think I would've taken some of that advice and not lost my shirt in the stock market).Anyway, layoffs are being announced tomorrow, so things may change quickly. Finance was never my thing anyway...

Re: What does everyone do for a living???
I work in Manhattan as an assistant for a consulting firm. I am currently looking for something different. I am considering going back to school to become a children's librarian. Can anyone who does this point me in the right direction, or give me any feedback? thanks

Re: What does everyone do for a living???
Account Manager- Advertising.I buy time on TV , radio , cable stations on behelf of my clients in various markets ( states) . I also work directly with two of our clients and prepare promotinal sponsorships, presentations, anaylsis, etc for them. Also manage a small buying team...and work with a boss who has no concept of any of the positions of the people who work for her. can be EXTREMELY frustrating at times...but I am learning to bite my tongue and wait for my mat. leave....

I use to be a Bank Examiner ...
and I realized that Finance was NOT for me long term, so fortunally I was able to make a switch in my company!

Re: What does everyone do for a living???
I used to work for a corporate housing co., but they were so unorganized and I was so over worked I got out of that all together. Now I work as an office manager for a trial consulting firm, trying to get my foot into the door to become a research assistant here (then I’d actually get to use my psych. degree). I love getting to find out all the secret stuff going on behind the scenes of the trial (research, jury selection, graphics etc.)

Re: What does everyone do for a living???
I do IT consulting and project management for a financial co. in NYC. An opportunity sort of fell into my lap when I graduated from college, and I've just grown within the technology sector. It's not what I want to do forever...I'm still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up!!
It's my dream to be a teacher...I'm especially interested in early child. education or special ed. Any teachers out there have any tips to get started??
