What is your wedding theme?

Colors? Theme? Anyone know yet?

I am doing like a 'garden romance' theme. lots of candles, ceremony in a garden, very symbollic details here and there. Color may be periwinkle.

I wasn't going to do a theme either until I found the invites that I want. We are going to do a winter wonderland/snowflake theme. I found these really cute placecard holders (but they are expensive!!) shaped like snowflakes. My invites will also have snowflakes. I am thinking my colors will be deep red and silver or some shade of blue and silver.

My theme will have to do with Valentines day, but I'm not going to go to crazy. Just figured it will help me focus because there is so much that I like.

I really don't have a theme but I would like to have a Victorian garden feel to the day.

But I have no idea how to achieve that feel.!

Beach/Ocean theme - probably have a cake with seashells on it and reception hopefully on the water. I'm not sure how far I'll take it though - although there is alot of beach theme stuff out there!

Re: What is your wedding theme?

I am totally doing a theme, and after talking with some great vendors, I am all about it.

My theme is going to be 1940's Broadway.

It's shaping up really well. I'm finding that some vendors are really embracing it and some are like, 'huh'? But it's great when they get excited.

The FT used to be an old movie theatre so I am going to do the following:

1. Long and glamourous gowns for the girls and me - no poof.

2. Things in jewel tones, which were big then, amethyst, dark green, gold.

3. Flowers that were big: callas, tulips, hydrangea maybe.

4. Menu cards that look like old playbills on one side (the other side will have the menu).

5. Tables will each be named after a movie, broadway show, performer or song from the era.

6. Thanks to Bravura's suggestion (kissy, listen to this!), I may have the lights dimmed as people walk into the reception and a single sax in the center of the dance floor playing some reallly awesome jazz - with a single spotlight on him.

7. Table cards will be the 'seats' and they will say 'Please Take Your Seat'

8. STD's will be like a movie poster.

That's all I can think of now. It will be slight, and still not over the top...but I am excited about it!
