I need a letter from him saying the wedd has been cancelled for the hall and its been a week and he hasnt given it to me . HE EFFIN TOLD ME TO CANCEL THE HALL , I DONT KNOW WHY HE IS STALLING. SO TO GET ANY LETTER FROM HIM ITS IMPOSSIBLE.
I would go to his house when you know he will be home (sneak attack style) with the two letters already prepared and just ask him to sign.
i think that is a good idea......the least he could do is sign the letters for you....

I haven't read this all bc I'm at work..but if he wants to take you to court..then let him waste his money!! I'd sell it and get rid of any ties him.

I'd definitely have a lawyer draw up some papers saying that he is letting you keep the ring and have him sign it and get it notarized!
Then, I'd keep the ring for 6 months - a year, so you can be really clear-headed when you make a decision. Then maybe invest the money, go on a fabulous vacation, put it in your savings, or put it towards something you really need.

heres what I would do....
To Whom It May Concern;
As per the decision of (his name here) to call of the wedding between (his name) and (your name) on (date of wedding), I have agreed to allow (your name) to permanently keep the engagment ring and she may do what she wants with it. If this letter is not returned to (your name) by (Date) the ring discussed will be permantenly forfieted to (you!).

Get a LEGAL letter written by a lawyer, mail it to him with a stamped return envelope and make sure he mails it back to you by a certain date.
IDK if you can do this, but i'd look into it. He doesn't deserve you or the ring!

What date did you get engaged? If it was a holiday or occasion- technically you keep it as it's concidered a 'gift'. Then, you can sell it....
Its wasnt a holiday or an occasion . He told me he proposed to me bec all of our friends were engaged and getting married.
My understanding was that the ring was a legal contract to get married - if he called it off, the ring is yours. If you called it off, you'd have to give it back.

Yes Judge Judy rocks on issues like that- Getting back to the ring at hand I'd take it and keep it and make it into earrings or something for you.
