First, I love this tread!!! I'm such a sap, and got all teary-eyed reading them...lol

Nov 4, 2003 on Vacation in Arizona..

Back Story, the Friday before (we left sat morning to arizona) we had this long heart to heart and he asked me would I be upset if he wasn't ready to propose, I was expecting it at xmas..lol, so of course I said no honey.. i will wait, we will know when we are both ready...etc etc..

So fast foward to Tues nite, poolside in AZ, it was sooo cold.. Nov in the desert? lol So hunny says he has to go the bathroom and leaves me in the pool for like 20 mins.. by the time he comes back I was honey I want to get out..he was like oh no please stay, I was like I'm freezing...he then proceeds to splash me with water and I yell at him urgh!!! so i swim over to the side of the pool to wipe my face with the towel, I did a DOUBLE take!! and screamed..lol under the towel was this pretty blue box with my ring and he was like honey I love you with all my heart will you be my wife.. I was like YES! YES! YES!! and threw my arms around him.. almost drowned the poor boy...lol

On the street in NYC after a great dinner and the opening movie of one of my fave books The Notebook.....i asked to stop in @ a psychic we passed and it was the perfect transition he asked if he could hlp with my future and dropped to one knee!!!!....then we stopped for a drink and surprise my friends and family were there. They thought to celebrate my birthday but it turned out to be a surprise for everyone!!

On our cruise, he took the microphone from the cruise director and did it in front of HUNDREDS of people.

At Dinner at the West End Cafe in Carle Place.

He and my family told me they were going shopping for the ring that Saturday to distract me from the real proposal on Friday night!

and... His parents even flew in from Michigan to greet us at my parents house when we got home!

He proposed the day before my birthday at my work in my classroom. Then he had a limo waiting to take us to the city. He had reservations at our favorite restaurant and then spend the night at the W Hotel. It was perfect!

My FH proposed on Valentine's Day, 2003.

We had just finished having dinner at a cozy Japanese restaurant in Forest Hills, Queens.

While we were walking towards our car he tells me: 'I have a rock in my shoe, but let's wait until you're out of the cold so I can take care of it'.

As I am seated on the passenger seat of the car, and just before he closes the car door, he kneels down and pointing to his shoe, he says 'Got it'! When I turned around to look at him, he takes the ring out of his coat pocket and says 'Shiny looking rock, isn't it!'

I laughed, he proposed, I cried and said 'Yes!'

We went ring 'looking' one day. We went to dinner then to see Elf. When we came out of the movies, I suggested we go to the Empire State Building before we left the city. I teased him and said he should go back and buy a ring and meet me at the top. Always so dramatic, I gave him a brief synopsis of an Affair to Remember and Sleepless in Seattle.

After walking around the observation deck for a while he stopped and got down on one knee. I smacked him in the arm and said 'get up you're not funny.' I really thought he was teasing. Then I saw the tears in his eyes and couldn't believe what was happening!

When he was talking prices in the corner with one of the jewelers, he was actually purchasing the ring and I honestly had no idea. I was pretty convinced that after 4 years it was never going to happen. But it did!

DH took me to Battery Park because when 9/11 happened he ran for his life and ended up in Battery Park.

He got down on one knee and said this is where he thought his life was over and now this is where he wants the rest of his life to begin. It was so emotional and touching.

Hudson and McCoys on the Nautical Mile....he told me he thought he never locked his car door and went back to check....and came back with roses and got down on one knee and proposed

My FH's apartment...Candlelit dinner, 4 dozen roses, my favorite songs playing on his computer and a giant Hershey Kiss that said 'Kara I love you so much will you marry me?' (We have been going to Hershey park every summer for 5 years). Soooooo romantic!
