You are being totally normal to feel a little 'What?!!' about that... I think it's a normal human emotion and you are never 'wrong' for feeling a certain way about something. I would feel the same way and I would be annoyed at the RD and then the wedding when everyone is saying Congrats to her when it's your wedding day, ya know? And in all honesty, he absolutely could have waited ONE more week. But try not to let it show or let it get you down b/c then it just makes the whole situation worse...

I have a feeling I'm going to be in your shoes. FSIL is not even engaged yet but she has been dating a guy for more than five minutes so all FMIL talks about is when it's FSIL's turn... and it's like, shouldn't she get the ring first? Which I can imagine happening like at my wedding after our first dance or something LOL!! I would just die but what can I do? I'm happy she is happy I just don't think that every time anyone is talking about my wedding FMIL or FSIL needs to chime in 'When it's her turn she'll do it THIS way' or 'When we get engaged I'm not going to have...' you know? Stuff like that really stinks! So sorry again-- ENJOY your day NO MATTER WHAT!!!

dont worry - at the first big family function i attended after i got engaged - FMIL boyfriend proposed to her!!

i thought that it stole my thunder for about 20 seconds. then it passed and we're all happy.

I don't think it will have any affect on your wedding at all. Let it go and enjoy that you are getting married to a wonderful man in 9 days! Also, enjoy the fact that those around you are embarking on a new journey as well. Its nice that your future sister in law is engaged. Be happy for her and remember how you glowed when you first got engaged.

Enjoy!
Dont let anything upset you at a time like this!

I completely agree. One of my good friends got engaged the week of my wedding and almost no one had heard yet (she actually didn't want to tell me or some other people because of our wedding, which was nice of her, but some people had already heard and others including me saw the ring at the wedding so it was def a topic of conversation at the wedding) - but you know what, it had no affect at all on anyone or my wedding. I was actually upset with her for keeping it from me. Don't worry, she won't be stealing your thunder.

Oh i was at a wedding, where the brother of the groom got down on one knee and proposed to his fiancee at the wedding! I was appalled!

I am seriously shocked by some of the ladies reactions to this....WHY in the world should anyone be upset or think that it was selfish of someone else to propose 9 days before a wedding????

Just how does that exactly rain on a bride's parade???

This is the ONLY negative thing about this site: seeing so many normally intelligent rational women get bent about how other people act!
