Now I realize Im biased bc I work for HBO...but....
I thought the show was ****BRILLIANT!!***** David chase is known for his symbolism and if you watch the show more then once you will catch many things you didnt catch the first time. I really loved the thought he put into creating the last scenes.
People are either going to love it or hate it but Im personally more into the show having depth then your typical I-just-wanna-see-Tony--offed or in-jail. I've always been one who likes to analyze the different layers of the whole story, I think he did great!!! But I can understand some people just want to be entertained with some action, and nothing more to it.

I dont even know what to say. When it ended, and the show just cut out, and they started playing the credits in silence.....FH and I just sat there, speechless. The end was actually very suspensful considering that nothing happened. I still dont know how I feel about it yet. lol

I am VERY interested in the symbolic aspect of tv and yes I do understand it...SOPRANOS IS A MOB SHOW not a psychological lifetime movie. What happened to this show! Tony's life has been falling apart for years and now after this war has been going on it's over with a phone call and meeting in a garage???? Come on....HORRIBLE

I din't watch, but poor FH got home from work at 1:30 am and watched, then watched parts again b/c he was like *** (he thought he missed something)- he went to sleep at 3am and got up for work again @ 6am!
I'm gonna hide when he comes home tonight- he's not gonna be much fun to be around! haah

My FH & I actually changed the channel to see if the TV stopped working or if the cable went out....any my parents did the same thing with their TV!
So disappointing.....
OMG i know, i was watching it in my bedroom and when that happened I freaked out that the cable went out so I FLEW into the living room and put the tv on so quick and then the credits came on and i was like OMG wait that was the ending

i think the song 'denise' by randy and the rainbows,they played when paulie and tony were in the car waiting for the fbi was an even better touch

ok so i get what you are saying - and i have my masters in English so i totally appreciate 'connecting the dots' etc
but remember WAY back when the show was good? it was a MOB drama - what the heck happened to it!?!

exactly! is it bad that i wanted more blood to be shed? i remember when i used to watch the sopranos and end every episode with a *** just happened that was great! reaction. for two seasons its been blahhhhh
i wanted that too and here is my thing about the ending, I would not have minded as much if ALOT more went on before that...i didn't like that basically the whole episode was boring and then for it to end like that. I saw alot of the symbolism and yes appreciate things like that, but along with it they could've had alot more action, sorry when it comes down to it, it is a mob show and lets not make it more complicated than it is...they could've satisfied more of their audience if they added more action on top of what they were trying to accomplish
I think if there was all this non-stop action that kept the audience excited and then they ended it the way the did by then it would be like OK we got what we did want and you know what this is a nice ending, it would've been like the calm after the storm

The whole reason why sopranos was so popular was all the killings and action in it...then they go and make it all symbolic...it got viewers only b/c they were hoping for the action that it once had...I wish i didn't waste my time last night...

I agree... My heart was beating a mile a minute waiting to see what was going to happen and then the t.v went out... (I thought - oh my god I missed the ending) The ending was different (not what to be expected) which is why I liked it. It had me in suspence and that all it takes to make it a good ending. I thought Chase had a few people at the edge of their seats, and to be relieved at the end. In my opinion Tony did not get killed at the end, the true Mafia rules are: family can not be touched, let alone a boss get killed in front of his family. Phil got killed because the families agreed he was getting out of hand. He was killed in front of his family because he was in hiding. Tony was out of hiding, he could of gotton killed at anytime. Bottom line Tony was back to having what he always wanted his family together. And why did the not eat at Artie's resturant, because they had to look like the ' ALL American Family' . What did you guys think of the CAT? I think it was Adreanna.

the part that is p!ssing me off the MOST about this episode is that all the people that liked it - every single one of them is like 'oh duh you guys it means XYZ happened' LOL no actually NOTHING happened its a TV show so after they stopped taping - they all went back to their trailers. . . i shouldn't have to 'infer'anythign!
btw - i am not just referring to girls on here I mean all over hte media - i have heard
'obviously he got shot' 'obviously his whole family was killed' 'obviously the family is safe but can never feel safe again' 'obviously Tony is going to snitch'

so i was just talking about this with my brother and he had a really good thought on the ending...it's like WE got 'whacked' - it all just went black and who knows what really happened - i thought that was interesting and seemed kind of 'sopranos-ish' - plus i thought the music throughout the whole episode was great!
