Re: would you be mad
IT depends....if she has similar attendents in the Bridal Party, I'd be upset, but only for their sake - it's a lot of money to dish out in a close time span.
Otherwise, no.
A VERY SIMILAR situation occurred w/the FI and I.
FI's friend (who's in the BP) got engaged three months after us, and decided to have their wedding EXACTLY one month before ours. GREAT...UNTIL we find out that FI and FI's Friend have the exact same Groomsmen.
Well, a whole drama broke out obviously b/c these guys in both BP's (not well off at all) will be shelling out mucho dinero in a short time span. Unfortunately, there was no solution b/c you honestly can't expect people to move their wedding date, or change their attendents.

No. I wouldn't be.
A friend of mine got engaged after me and is getting married before me, she asked me if I would be mad, and I was like 'Why?' Who cares.

if people have to travel for the wedding, or the bridal attendants are the same it would bother me...
ALso, make sure you dont tell her any of your 'special touches' unless you dont mind if she snags a few

I agree. If you have a lot of family coming in from out of town, they may decide to come in for 1 wedding & not the other.
Also her shower will probably be first.
Like someone else said, I'd keep your personal touches to yourself.
Kudos for you for it not upsetting you!

My little brother got engaged after me and was planning to get married in 10/06 but decided to buy a house. Now they will be getting married in a few months! i told them as long as they do not decide to get married on 5.28.06, I am fine!

Re: would you be mad
my fsil got engaged 1 month before me. i made sure she decided on a time period before i looked. she is getting married 9/2/05 (oh my goodness its only a week away) and I am getting married 7/21/06. i knew the month i wanted and the year, but it was cool. it really turned out great to be engaged with someone else, because when everyone else was tired of doing wedding stuff, we had each other to go together. we didnt fight once over anything wedding related. we had completely different themes in mind and had fun helping one another out. i think if you are okay with it great. have a good time planning together.

Only if it was really going to interfere with my wedding and shower and stuff...also if we had some of the same bridesmaids or groomsmen

i think she is over 10 years older than me - i think they are rusnig so she can get pregnant. im not in that situation so i understand. yes we will have many of the same guests, but you know what, we want to keep our guest list low, so if alot of the random 'third cousins' go to hers and not mine, it may be a blessing in disguise

Oh my god - almost the same exact situation here. Except, my cousin got engaged 3 months after me and just got married last month. I wasn't mad at all. The only thing that annoyed me was that she stole a couple of my ideas and now people will think I copied off of her. I know that's childish, but I can't help it.

Re: would you be mad
I actually had something similar happen to me.
We actually got engaged around the same time.
So I called my cousin up and asked him when he was planning on doing his wedding, and told him when I was planning on doing mine.
Long story short people weren't happy with the date I picked in 06 so I changed it to 07 (he said he would be getting married in 07).
I left a message telling him I had to change the date to x is this going to interfere with you? Let me know..
He never called back and I found out on his e-party he booked it a month before me,his sisters would no longer be in my wedding party because with their brothers wedding it would be too much.
I changed the date back to my original date and said screw everyone else, it's my day I am doing what I want to do.
A lot of my family members thought two weddings back to back is to much not only are the weddings back to back then but so is the bridal shower and everything else.
I was upset, because I tried hard not to have that problem, occur.

I wouldn't, personally, I feel there are bigger things for me to stress over, lol. I'd be too busy worrying about my own wedding than someone else's.

well i must say i did get upset when my cousins cousin planned her wedding three weeks before mine. our relatives who we have in common would need to fly out for both weddings. yes she did get engaged first yes but she did not start planning until she had her baby. and i saw her last summer and she asked me when my wedding date was and i told her. she said 'oh thats nice'
then i find out she planned it 3 weeks before my own.
part of the reason i am having my wedding in the winter was to have my own season and not everyone getting married around me. i was upset because i wanted my aunt and uncle and cousins to come to mine. and they will probably only go to one which will probably be hers. ohhh wellll

I don't think it would bother me but I would stress over who was coming to who's wedding and so forth because it may be a financial burden on some family members ... but honestly all who truly love you will be there to share in your special day, so I wouldn't make a big deal out of it... I'm sure your weddings will be held at different places, so both will be completely different from one another. If your not upset, then don't let others convince you to be upset and spoil your good time!

Re: would you be mad
My brother did a very similar thing to me. He got engaged 6 months after us & decided to get married 2 months before us, so yes, I would get mad, as I did with him & his fioncee.
