I actually agree with this. . it looks way more like a suit than a fancy dress and you will look SOOOOOOO different. .I think if she asked, it would be fine to say no but prob not worth starting a stink over.

Did she order it with you? I'd be more upset that she went on her own without asking your opinion than I'd be over the color.

Well for starters, I went shopping with her for 6 hours one day in which she didn't try on ONE dress. Not one.


And then she turns around and buys this? I mean the color is VERY close to ivory which I'm wearing and I'm pretty sure shes not going to wear the jacket (because shes not old and frumpy) and then that dress with the little train is pretty bridey looking to me...I donno. I'm upset.

I mean what really matters is how it makes you feel and if it upsets you then I think you should be honest with her... it is your day!

I think it is way too close to the bride's color and would be annoyed too.

i kind of agree. it looks like a mothers type of dress. nothing to get angry over.

now if she got a gown / or something ultra ' look at me' in that color. id prob be pissed.

I'd be slightly upset that the color is so close to white. Have you seent he dress in person? Maybe it's just the way the light reflects on it in the photo?

yes, i would, be dress is ivory and that color is wayyyyyy to close for comfort

i know when people say u r the focus etc etc,and thats true but imo she should have thought not to wear that color or to ask you...just a strange choice considering there r so many other colors..i mean iyes in the long run i know its not a big deal..but if u r wearing ivory and she gets something in iviry..thats a bit strange to me

I have a similar situation only....


my FMIL decided to wear the same designer as my dress. (Pnina Tornai) except she didnt like any of the dresses that Pnina makes for evening dresses. So, she got a wedding gown in a different color!! and yes its gray and doesnt look like a wedding gown anymore but still like *** ?!

I would be mad as well, especially since you said you went shopping with her too. I think it's inapropriate and in poor taste to wear an ivory dress to a wedding.

I don't know why she would do that, is my point. There are SO many pale colors to pick from, ivory shouldn't be in anyone's choices for a wedding.
