WW Support Thread

Original post by SummerBride10

We used to have a WW Support Thread...and that died down. I think we need a new one- I need alot of support and motivation. For about 2 weeks after my grandfather passed away I just ate and ate and ate...I ended up gaining 1.2 lbs. I'm trying to get back on track.

Who here is doing WW?

today i officially hit 10 lbs of weight lost so far!

i still have 15-20 lbs to go but i am feeling good overall...just feel generally healthier and my clothes are fitting better.

OMG, thats awesome. I know how could that feels. Cant wait to start loosing again. Started up again this week...it hasnt been a bad start but not a strict strict one either...but since Im home today from work I made myself this huge egg white omelet loades with veggies and had some fat free yogurt with a little splenda and im so satisfied.

Whenever I really get going on weight watchers, my thought is always...shouldnt everyone been on this? its just the right way to eat, not a diet...this might sound silly but I am going to use the things I learned from WW as a guideline for when i raise my kids...like i just know how much they should eat and stuff and what is a good balance of foods for them.

Motivations ladies--- * you in your wedding dress on your day* yayyy, gonna be hottt to trottt, lol

DId you change your profile name?

yes yes, its Me..Lorin!

You can do lose it easy once you get back into your normal routine, no worries!! Your on vacation, enjoy yourself, its not everyday you get to go away with Brian for a week!!

So I am not noticing the scale moving much since I started WW...I have only lost 2 pounds the past three weeks...My portion size's are small, I try to eat lots of veggie's, drink green tea to keep metabolism up, go to the gym 5 days a week (cardio and weight machine's each visit)...What am I doing wrong??
Does anyone have any tips, or does WW really take a while before you start to lose any weight? Im getting frustrated!!

i totally know how you feel bc for awhile i was doing really good on ww and felt like i wasn't losing anything.....but i stuck with it and lately i have been losing more weight...I used to not eat my full amt of points ( i get 20 and i would eat like 17 or 18) but i started eating all of my pts and am losing weight faster...maybe you aren't eating enough? hang in there...the lbs will start to fall off!!

I think it depends on the person. Are you drinking alcohol at all? One week I lost zero weight...and I am convinced it was b/c I drank a ton one sat night. Also, you are going to the gym, which might be adding muscle (doesnt that weigh more)? I would measure yourself..maybe you are losing more inches than pounds.

Are you drinking a lot of water? I find that when I drink a lot of water, it helps boost a loss. I've been on WW for over a year now and am maintaining as a Lifetime member...which I think is tougher than actually losing, sometimes.
Your muscles may also be retaining water since you're doing weights.
Some people lose quickly in their first week or two on WW and then things start to even out; others don't see the immediate boost. Usually that first loss is big because it's a lot of water weight.
Try taking your measurements. I found that in the losing process, if the scale wasn't budging much, I'd stay motivated by seeing the change in my measurements.

Ok here's the leader in me talking now:

Gaby, are you getting in all of your target points everyday?

How about your 9 good health guidelines?

Weighing and measuring your foods?

Have you measured yourself in inches too? Don't rely just on the scale.

Lots of salty foods lately?

Those are my initial starter questions.....once you answer those, I can look more in to it. Also, if you're interested in emailing me a copy of your weekly tracker, I can take a look at it for you and see if there's anything you could do differently.

I am also in the same boat. I just recently have seen the scale go down a couple of pounds. Prior to this week, I never really weighed my foods and estimated in my head all the time and kept track of all my points in my head. For lunch, I would say...okay this is probably 6pts...

I have also been working out with a trainer for the past 4 weeks, working out a total of 3-4 days a week, cardio, weights, everything and was gaining weight. I realized the problem was my portion size and not writing anything down, and estimating got me into trouble. I just started weighing everything and writing everything down, and finally see a difference.

Are you writing everything down and weighing everything?

Actually, I do have a WW question...

Laura, maybe you can help answer this one!

I went food shopping and found cans of soups that has '0 Point Value' on the front of the package, but the label on the back does calculate 1 points per serving.

It does say 0 points, would you go by that or the label on the back? I went with the label on the back and applied 2 points towards my daily points. There are other soups to that say '0' points on front and its the WW logo.

Any thoughts on this?

Ok lets see...

How about your 9 good health guidelines?
I get about 2 servings of dairy a day, take my vitamin and a hair/skin/nails supplement, I drink about 6-8 glasses of water a day, and I get my veggie's and fruits in

Weighing and measuring your foods?
I dont weigh my food, I measure everything besides lettuce

Have you measured yourself in inches too? I havent measured myself...I am going off of how my pants and tank tops fit

Lots of salty foods lately?
I have been eating lots of salad and grapefruits lately. I use evoo, salt and pepper to dress my salads. At night I splurge and have a skinny cow ice cream sandwich.

I get 20 points a day, i usually come in around 15-18 points a day (One point breakfast, 2-4 point lunch, how ever many dinner is (figure 5-6) and a light snack (1-3 points).

So what is the official opinion of our fearless leader??

For the progresso soups (which is what i think your talking about) half of the can (1 cup) is 0 points...but if you eat the whole can (2 cups) it sometimes works out to 2.5 points depending on what soup it is...The points value on the front of the can is a bit misleading (plus its always better to overestimate then underestimate!!)

EAT YOUR POINTS!!!!!!!!!!!!! My 'official opinion' is that you're not eating enough. If you're allowed 20 points a day, eat 20 points a day!

Try it for a week and tell me what happens

Thanks about the soups! Yes, it was Progresso. At first, I thought this is great - zero points!

But, then I said it cant be zero - so like you said overestimating is much better than under...so I followed the label on the back. It is a little misleading. But, not too bad for a low point value food but I just have to watch the sodium level. Its always something!

Gaby's right. The 0 point soups are per serving.

However, if you're calculating nutritional info for just one serving and you're still getting 1 point, go with the 1 point. I ALWAYS recommend going with what the nutritionals say.
