DH and I aggree that it's sharing each others' drinks. Like I'll be sitting on the couch wanting a glass of water and all of a sudden, here's DH with a glass of water. Yeah, he meant it for him, but he's so going to share! Being married is great.
DH and I do this to each other as well!
Another great thing - practical wise - save $ on laundry by combining our loads now.

I can blame things on 'my husband'.
It sounds more official then 'my boyfriend'. People react different I notice, they seem to understand and relate better. They take me more seriously. It's so weird.
Although, I guess I could have just stayed single and said 'my husband wants...' anyway. No one would be the wiser, would they? I'd have to get a fake wedding band too though...

Re: What's the best thing about being married? (practical, not mushy)
Seriously, going home to see him every night. We have been together for 7 years, owned a house together for the last year and a half, and before we got married he lived in the house alone and I still lived at my parents. Between our jobs we would only see each other once a week for a few hours, some weeks we would go without seeing each other. We still don't see each other awake that much (by the time I get home from work he is already sleeping), but at least I know I am going to go home and sleep next to him. I know it sounds silly but this is seriously one of my favorite things about being married to him. I love him being married or just dating, but knowing I can see him everyday makes me SO happy!!!!!

well...theoretically...you could have saved yourselves a pretty penny and just shacked up.
you could still share drinks that way.

We were shacked up. But before it was like I was stealing his drink. Now it's 'our' drink. I don't know, he used to get pi$$ed about it, now he loves it. Works for me.
ah HA
you didn't say that before
totally

I cook, he eats. I clean, he makes a mess.
Forget practical it is reality.

ETA: It was also pretty sweet when he dealt with my broken car for me yesterday on his day off while I was at work.
This makes me laugh. DH ALWAYS drinks my drink!!!!! I have to hide it from him because every time I go back to it it's empty!!!!

For me, it's the fact that both of our paychecks went up because our status changed to 'married'

He does almost all the laundry. I think it may have started when he became impatient that I would carry a small basket downstairs and then make several trips. He loads up a huge basket, taller than he is. He cannot even see over it but he gets all the laundry downstairs at once. Those of you who know him can probably get a visual of this. Then, as long as he is downstairs, he says he may as well start the laundry. Then, he ends up finishing it and carrying it back up--folded!!!!
My mom says he is a mensch!
Another benefit is that b/c of what our living situations were beforehand, being together actually costs us less on some things.

He does the laundry, cooks, and takes out the garbage; it's awesome!! Also the drink thing, but it goes both ways too!!
Having him around makes me feel really secure when we go out, or even just at home. He's like my personal body guard!!

coming home to a cooked meal.
He cooks and does dishes (apparently I make a mess). whatever works....I'm all about compromising
