Hey girls!! As you may or may not remember a week ago, I posted a message about FH's aunt asking us to RESCHEDULE OUR WEDDING b/c her son is GRADUATING highschool on the same day!!! Well, if that isn't bad enough.... here's the update......
FH's aunt emailed FMIL and 'went off' on her saying that she's mad at FMIL and FH because they won't RESCHEDULE our wedding!!! Is she serious???? I'm at a lose for words!!! I am waiting for FMIL to forward the email to me, and I will update you all as to what exactly was said.... Unreal!

'....Weddings can be planned anytime.....sorry it is an inconvenience for
Michael because he is a teacher... and he has to coach in August and East Wind is not available any other time that is 'convenient' for them..... Frankies graduation is Sat. 9 a.m. I should then go run from the graduation around noon home to shower and get ready to run to the church in Smithtown around 2 p.m. go to the reception in the evening??? .... Frankie already told me he doesn't want to have his graduation party the weekend before....I'm disgusted REALLY!!! I made Dawn cry (sorry for that)...it's not directed at her.....it's directed at you and everyone else for not thinking...Michael included....we
now have to accommodate everyone else and you want me to share in their joy when you just messed up Frankie's moment???
i'm not happy, sorry to say....and i think it's selfish on your part and Michael's to think that everyone should accommodate you now......So....no one thinks they should call Frankie and say 'gee frankie....we
weren't thinking....we really sorry we didn't really think this through.....' Too Much......you just think we're supposed to go cheerfully through this like it's no big deal....it is a big deal Linda!!!'

Oh no! How horrible! Running around to make more than one event on the same day! Come on, at some point everyone has had to do this. Suck it up!

sounds to me its not the days shes upset about but the $$$$$$ that little frankie wont get from the family since there is a wedding that weekend

Otheriwse, theyd go to the ceremony- cause usually only a handful of people can go anyway , theyd come to the reception. party his azz off and then have a grad party in a few weekends

shes a monster for doing this

I hope yoru FMIL gives it back to her damn good!

Isnt your wedding on 6/24? or is 6/24 when they are planning a graduation party?!?! who plans a graduation party a year in advance? I don’t even think i knew when my graduation date was going to be till the winter or spring before!!!

I had a similar situation only reversed... 'someone' wanted to have an engagement party for us the day of another family event on my side (this other party was planned long before we were even engaged and 'this person' knew about it), even after i told 'them' i and my family and FH already had plans for this other party! i was basically told i could show up later!!!..

definitely not as absurd as your situation! you will be a beautiful bride, i hope you dont let this bother you.. if think about it.. it is actually very humorous!! Best of luck!

If they can't make it they should respond no on the invite on the invite....but at this pt I would be so furious I wouldn't even want to invite them. It's like she's trying to pin you a 'bridezilla' Getting a wedding date is not like buying a shirt...you can't just exchange it. THE NERVE TO EVEN ASK!!! I am so annoyed. It's your day...there are so many other people who are happy for you, and unfortunately your own aunt can't be.

Heavin brings up a good point. This is a year away, she's already planning the grad party. Let's wait to see if there is a graduation. She and lil Frankie can suck it up..put your life on hold for a HS grad party...absolutley ludicrous.

That's the date of your wedding, how unthinking of her to think that a couple starting their new life together would change everything for a HS grad party. It's not logical. She's in la la land.

That is insane!!! My dad and my stepmom just recently attened my step bro and sis graduation from college and gradschool..in the morning
(same school) then went to a wedding after that! THis woman is crazy. I dunno how you just dont tell her off...I mean I know u wouldnt but STILL

why cant she make it to the church by 2. she said it should be over by noon. it could be done if she really wanted. or if she cant make it to the church (like half the people dont) she can make it to the reception to celebrate it with you guys. What a witch!

OMG this seriously seems fake. She is a nutjob. It's a high school graduation for crying out loud...the kid is in HS, is it a HUGE deal? He's SUPPOSED to graduate! He doesn't want the party the week before; what about the week after or whenever the heck they feel like it?!
