Do you ever use your recipe cards ( if you got them)

If you receive recipes from guests at your shower, do you use them? I don't thikn I've made one of them yet?
Oen was for Cocoalte chip cookies from my MIL. Umm. . ther eis a receip right on the bag for those! And they are better than hers.

My family/friends gave us mostly stuff DH won''t eat & his family have me cookies & funnell cakes. I can't see mys self making funnel cakes in my apartment.

Re: Do you ever use your recipe cards ( if you got them)

Yeah, I definitely hear you on that one. I feel like I'd rather make a recipe from a book than those cards. I mean, except for DH's aunt's chocolate chip cake. If its a sought-after family recipe, thats a different story!

Re: Do you ever use your recipe cards ( if you got them)

I'm really picky and a lot of people gave me recipes for food or key ingredients I don't eat. I love to bake so I might make some of those recipes especially SIL's banana bread which is sooo good. It's definitely a nice idea to do for a shower, but depending on the recipes, it may not be that useful.

Re: Do you ever use your recipe cards ( if you got them)

I loved the concept & it was fun to read them, bc some of freind's were goffy with what htey submitted, but even fromym family mebers that have sought after specialties, those where not the oens they gave me. And some other one are probably fine, I just forget about them.

I should make an effort to try one soon. ( I'd be all about the Swedish meatballs, if DH wasn't so picky!)

Re: Do you ever use your recipe cards ( if you got them)

I've definately tried a few. Mostly the really easy ones. There are a lot I want to try - but just haven't gotten to it. For me it's been pretty useful.

Re: Do you ever use your recipe cards ( if you got them)

this is funny... we got married in june and just last week i put all the cards in an organizer- i was reading them, and ended up finding like one or two i want to make... we made a baked chicken one from one of my friends that came out good, and another friend lives alone and is BIG on the crockpot, so she gave us a couple super easy mexican crockpot recipes that i'm definitely gonna try soon....other than that, not too many good ones... but some people did get creative-
my aunt gave me a recipe for something and on the bottom put, ' if it burns, thats usually a sign that you're due for a night out. feed leftovers to the dog!' LOL

No, its been almost a year and I still haven't. My husband cooks almost every night b/c he gets home earlier than I do. One of these days I will get around to using them.

Re: Do you ever use your recipe cards ( if you got them)

Honestly no, I haven't used any yet, but that's just cause I always forget I have them!! There definitely some recipes in there I want to try...the timing is just never right though. Like one recipe is for a cake...and I don't really want to be making that when I'm trying to lose the baby weight, ya know!

Re: Do you ever use your recipe cards ( if you got them)

YEP, I did it a lot in the summer when we had more time, found a great marinade among other things....now if only I had time to get back to them.
