I'm almost 27 yrs old and I've never had a credit card. I always pay cash. That's what I've been taught. Last night I applied for a card and got denied. I'm in tears. This is the second card I've applied for in 3 years. *** is going on??? Do I need to be on welfare to get one??? I don't understand. What do I do?? Dh just tells
Me to keep money under my bed like I've been doing and fk them. I'm so angry

Get a secured credit card to build credit. You put a deposit down to secure the card and as you use it and pay it off it improves your credit and eventually you'll be able to get an unsecured card.

Try applying to smaller banks too. Household Bank is a good starter card.

does will have a card? if so, ask him to add you. once you have one in your name the cc companies will at least 'recognize' you in the future when you want your own.

my first cc was joint w my dad. i never had an issue applying after that (but that was also a different time....)

Only want a card to get miles for airfare. I don't need a fkn credit card. I am sooo pissed. I just punched the wall and started crying I don't even want to get back out of bed now.

YES! Try this...exactly what I was going to recommend. You can google 'beginner credit cards' or 'first time credit cards' and it will come up with cards that will work for you.

was it a store card?

apply for orchard bank

they have a yearly fee and crazy interest but since you will never have a balance you will be ok.

It's probably just because you have no credit history. DH didn't have his first credit card until he was 32. Try applying to Capital One. They were my first credit card when I was 18 and had no credit history.

Do you get those credit card pre approval things in the mail? That helped me get my first one since I had no credit.

It's harder to get ccs now. When I was 18, I applied and got like 5. All I had to do was lie about my income. This is why there was a credit crisis. I mean, not just bc of me, but an overall abuse of credit.

They're a lot more selective now.

Tell Will to apply for the airline card and put you as an authorized user. That will help your credit and you'll get the miles anyway.

Have your hubby add you as an authorized user. I did this for my husband and now credit card companies wont stop sending pre-approvals!

And I, the one with great credit, am getting hardly any offers!

this! work on establishing credit then you will have no problem in the future! get on one of will's ccs or get a secured cc and work your way up.

do u have a checking account? if so use ur atm card a charge not a debit, and that should build your credit. thats what DH did and he got soo many applictions in the mail.

i use my debit as credit all the time. it doesnt do anything i got an email after i posted this from orchard bank. no privacy online i tell ya!

i got a copy of my credit report/score...

yea, my report was EMPTY.. just ONE thing on there..a bank i used in college. i closed it in 2002. the comments on there said 'no late payments'

credit score is sooooooooooo lowww


but i took you advice and i applied for a starter card. i got approved! lolol

300$ limit. ERFFF


but its a start!
