A thread just for PlusSize Brides

Original post by aimerliny

I thought it might be good to start our own thread. We're all in the same boat, and we can help each other find things we need, vent about issues, support each other's diets.

Anyone interested?

I can't wait to see the pics...I have tried on the dress and love it, but I'm not getting married for another 18 months so I'm not going to order anything for a while. I love the dress though.

Okay, finally got my pluh.com account to work so I can post some pics of me in my dress.

These pics are horrible. But keep in mind that she took the top in a bit after this, and the dress is going to be steamed and pressed before the wedding, of course. I had one fitting after this but don't have pics from that fitting.

Also keep in mind that I'm 6 mos prego so I really feel blimpy.

Hey Girls!
I went yesterday for my first dress trying on experience. I was not happy with what I chose and how I looked in it. I have off this summer so I will be 'working on a transformation' and looking at getting a breast reduction in Dec.
I tried on Palmoa Blanca Diva but they did not look good. My arms look so fat in them.
Any suggestions as to what other designers you were looking at? I felt better about have 3/4 sleeves. I hate wearing them but I don't want my arms to show. Anyone else have this prob?
Thanks for the info!

I thought I'd want sleeves, but I ended up with sleeveless. I don't like the way my arms look, but with my dress and veil, I really don't think they look as bad as I actually think they look.

I was very happy with my Alfred Angelo dress and had tried on quite a few others by them that I liked (with an without sleeves).

Good luck!

Re: A thread just for PlusSize Brides

i hate the way i look in sleevless........and was so limited to the dresses i tried on because everything is strapless. Then i went to this bridal shop and they had an actual mesh bodysuit that came in either white or cream and you could wear it with any strapless dress.....OMG i was so excited i tried on a ton of dresses !!!!!! the bodysuit just actually looked like it was part of the dress it was amazing I never saw anything like it!!!

Re: A thread just for PlusSize Brides

I never even thought of getting anything sleeveless, but when I went to try on dresses the bridal salon lady made me try on a strapless dress. I thought it looked really nice....I didn't even worry about my arms. The reason I am not choosing a strapless is b/c I have a big chest and know I would be pulling the thing up all night, no matter how tight it was.

ETA: The lady at the bridal salon said they could put sleeves on almost any dress. That might be another option.

Well after someone on this board called me fat the other day and said I am too young to be so overweight and that my husband was going to stray I was going to delete all my pictures and not ever post any again but you know what???? S-c-r-e-w them!!
I would have LOVED to know what a size 22 dress was going to look like on me!! or even what one looked like period.
I even wrote in my review that I was really sick of being told to 'imagine' how a size 8 dress would look if it was 'my size'

Oh, my!! Who called you fat?!! That's terrible! You're beautiful and your dress looked absolutely lovely!

I too was worried about wearing a sleeveless dress. The dress i originally wanted come with/out straps but when I tried on my dress my arsms was the last thing I thought about...Goog luck choosing
