About the flower girls... And having a new board
wow I must be in the dark about ages and what they are capable of. I know my flower girls dont use the internet, they use a computer for games and educational things but I really cant see a flower girl going into these topics or really understanding what to do or click on what or really be that interested in the planning. or having the patience as a kid to sit and read or understand what they are reading. Is it just me or anyone else feeling weird about FG using this website?

Re: About the flower girls... And having a new board
Here is a true story. My boss has a 4 year old daughter. He puts her on the Disney site to play around on occasion.
She can not only navigate through the site... she was able to locate the Disney Store... AND Manage to place items into the shopping cart.
All she needed was either his credit card cached on the website... or the number... and she was on her way to getting some new toys.
No joke.
They know more than you think.

see I agree, my neices who are 3 and 6 would never be interested in this site and the 8 yr old her too, if I was on they would be like oh ok but for them to come onto this website on their own? i dont know. maybe Im naive, but I cant see it happening. going into disney sites yes I can see that it has toys something interesting to their age group but this site,??? maybe im nuts

But remember... Mama see... mama do. If they see their mothers on there, or aunts, or whatever... they will want to go themselves.

ok, agreed they see mom and want to do the same. but are 4 and 5 year olds intelligent enough to navigate through the whole computer process, turning it on, logging in and entering the correct web address?? i find this very hard to believe....

Re: About the flower girls... And having a new board
I think I am missing something though ... do parents actually allow their children UNSUPERVISED on the internet? My neices/nephews and the children I have babysat have NEVER been on the interent unsupervised. There is always a parent in the room or around making sure the child is NOT on a site they shouldn't be ... and no offense but what on this site would a flowergirl or junior bridesmaid need to research? I really don't get it

Re: About the flower girls... And having a new board
Remember some flowergirls can be as old as 12-13 years old. Thats plenty old to be able to navigate. And remember... Ron is just using the term 'flowergirls' to justify the reason. But realistically... he wants this forum to cater to the OVER-18 crowd at least.

Re: About the flower girls... And having a new board
me neither, I think something else is behind the new board but I didnt want to post that. It just seems to far fetched for me to believe a little girl would be interested to navigate this board, I could be wrong though

Re: About the flower girls... And having a new board
I havea post about this on NWR...Also I mean, there are vedor sites and the ads on the right that show adult products,a re they getting rid of them too? I think the whole site should be over 18 then..or defintiely the NWR and other baords like TTC that have nothing to do with 'flower girls'...b/c you know what, even if child is doign wedding planning she shoudln;t be talking abut even everday topics with adults she doens't know on the itnernet...

Re: About the flower girls... And having a new board
We are missing the point. These younger girls (more like 10 or 11) are flower girls or junior brides maids in their sisters wedding or their aunts wedding etc. There mothers approved of them looking at the site that the wedding is being planned on. Some have photos in the photos album area that are looked at etc. Whatever the case is they come across posts that are shocking for them. Thus we made a board where users can post the r rated material and the younger people can't see it. Logical and satisfies everyone's needs and concerns!

it's probably a great idea, Ron, but the timing makes it suspiciousETA: I still think NWR serves this purpose..also TTC has 'R rated
stuff, and eventually people will link OT just like they link OT.

Re: About the flower girls... And having a new board
I just have a question, if their sister or aunt is logged on and they are using thier computer to navigate wont they still see these topics? dont get me wrong its great to have a website that is free for any discussion but I think they can still get on. I know I have my computer always logged on.

Now you really have me confused. Suspicious about what? I've been asking people for months to chill out on some topics. Some topics have increased, the phone calls to me have increase, and now we have come up with a solution. Sounds simple and basic, doesn't it? Now the adult material has a place that it can be discussed without me asking people to cool it or having to remove it. What in the world is suspicious about that?

Re: About the flower girls... And having a new board
Well I guess if the kids gets on on auntie's SN it's auntie's fault..if the kid isn't logged on and sees an interesting poll or two, that's presumably ron's faultWelcome New Vendors
