Are your fiance's parents paying for anything?

Just curious... my parents are footing about 80% of the wedding costs, we're doing about 20% and my fiance's mom is doing the rehearsal dinner...

I know there are different versions of who should pay what depending on what 'tradition' you go by... how is everyone here doing it? I would like to ask his mom to help with limos or videographer or something to help lessen the blow for us. It's so awkward and stressful!

Yes they are being very generous

they are paying for the band, the limos, the photographer, the videographer, the florist and the rehearsal dinner

They ended up paying for the honeymoon (very nice of them), flowers (though she regretted it when she tried to change my order and the owner wouldn't allow her to do that)

What!!!!!!

I can't believe that she would try ot change the flower order for YOUR wedding

No, they haven't offered to pay for anything and I'm not really expecting them too. They are going through a tough time so I don't want them to have to worry about wedding payments on top of everything. My parents are gving us money towards the wedding (about 1/3), doing the rehearsal dinner, and we are paying for everything else.

Not a single thing. Yes, they know about tradition for the RD but there is NO money on that side, so FH & I are paying for it.

eparty and dj. They told us they're 'done' with weddings after giving their daughter everything she wanted.

Nope - but that is the best way for us because it keeps them out of the decision-making process

ya they're probably paying for over 50% of it, but then again it's in their home city and not ours.

My parents are paying 95% of the wedding... and we're paying the rest.
FI's family is paying for the engagement ceremony.

They gave us $5k for the honeymoon and are paying for the rehearsal dinner. It would have been nice to get more but oh well.

They are paying for the RD and giving us a decent sum toward the honeymoon which is going to be very expensive.

My in laws aren't paying for anything. She actually asked me to buy airplane tickets / hotel rooms for her daughter, husband and 2 kids. I was like ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I am paying for the wedding! If they want to be there, they can save the money!

nope - but they don't have a lot of money, and neither does my mother, so we are paying for all of it (except my dress - my mother is buying that for me)
