In order to cut down on time spent greeting the guests during our reception I wanted to go into the cocktail hour to greet some people & take quick pics. My mom thinks its a horrible idea. She thinks someone will spill food on my dress and I haven't had my cutting the cake pic or dance with my dad yet. Anyone do it/plan on do it...not do it/plan on not doing it? Why or why not?

im going for that reason..i dont weant to spend the whole reception saying hi,and besdies i want to go see the ch..hth..now of course anyone who i didnt see at ch i would of course go say hi to but i want to get the majority out of the way

we both want so bad to make it .... we purposely moved out ceremony earlier to leave more time in between for photos..... we want all that yummy food! and definitely get some hello's out of the way so I can tear up the dance floor all night haha!

We did and the best choice to do so - LOVED IT. Said hi to all had some drinks with our friends then moved back to the suite to eat then did the grand here we are thing and went around casually again but we got everyone at the CH just figured to go around and say hi again.

I did cocktail hour before ceremony, ceremony and reception was at the same place.
The one relative I dislike the most told me to go hide the entire time, I said no, why should I?
It was fine, we had some snacks and and took pics with family and friends.
Our big entrance was toned down, it would have been too tacky otherwise in my case i think.

We had our ceremony at the RD and did a receiving like into the CH so I greeting everyone there and attended my CH too. I kind of wish I was in the suite for CH b/c I really didn't get to eat the food with everyone coming over to me.

Cocktail hour is my favorite part at weddings! Since we are getting married at the same place, we are meeting before the ceremony to take pics.

We are planning to hopefully take most of our pics before the ceremony & then make it to at least 1/2 of the cocktail hour.. until we sneak away to the bridal suite and wait for our grand entrance into the reception...

We both went to our CH. We wanted to say our hello-s there so we could party at the reception.. ALSO, we paid good money for this wedding and we wanted to enjoy every minute of it!!

yea i definetly think i want to go to my CH- its always my favortie part of every other wedding- and i wanna see what mine will look like.... we're taking pics before the ceremony- if anything we'll sneak out to take some more pics at the end of CH. plus i wanna dance the whole time at the reception- so i gotta get my hello's out of the way.

why would you want to miss a minute of your wedding??? CH is part of your wedding! We got married at the RH -- did some pics before, had the ceremony. After the ceremony, we had 10-15 minutes alone in the bridal suite where there was CH food and champagne waiting for us. Then we went down to CH, it was great! We got to talk to a lot of people and enjoy being outside! Then when everyone went in, we had about 15 minutes to take pics outside while everyone was being seated inside, and then we had our entrance and first dance. I wouldn't have changed a thing. Go! Its so much fun!

We are taking pics before the church so that this way we can be at the CH.. I think we will hang out in the Bridal suite for like 15 20 mins n then go down for the Ch.. Paid all that money why miss it!!!

i dont think Fh and I will be going only because we are getting married at the RH, and NOT seeing each other before the wedding.....so our pics will have to be right after the ceremony while everyone is in the Chour....i would love to go though...but iam againist FH seeing me before the wedding!

We went to our CH and we had a great time. DH and I went around and talked to all our guests. We we out separate ways though... haha. He was with his guy friends and I was with my girlfriends.

I am going to. I want to eat and then walk around. Our cocktail hour is 1.5 hours, so I figured I would say hello to most people then so I can dance and enjoy the rest of my night. I will then leave and have introductions. I would rather spend my time at my reception and enjoy myself than running around all night long.
