FOR ALL DECEMBER BRIDES....

What stage are all of you in your planning. I am feeling very overwhelmed lately and I feel I will not have enough time to finish everything. It also seems like I am forgetting things. Does anyone else feel this way?

Re: FOR ALL DECEMBER BRIDES....

I was thinking the very same thing this morning. I think I am stressing myself over nothing. We do have a lot done, but it seems there is so much more to do. Invites are out and responses are coming in regularly. Hotel rooms are blocked. Hall is done except for final menu which is the week before the wedding. Program covers are done, just have to clear readings, music, etc with the church to do the inside pages. First fitting is 11/3. Booked make-up, texes picked out and everyone measured. Bought most of the extras, cameras, table name signs, etc. Having another meeting with photographer next week, also final meeting with dj is next week to give do play, do not play etc lists. Will have final with florist in November. All gifts for bridal party have been purchased. I am sure there is plenty I am forgetting. I am lost without my list !! But I know exactly how you feel

Re: FOR ALL DECEMBER BRIDES....

Decbride you just made me get nervous!!! I am one week before you and I don't have 3/4's of your list done yet!!! AAACK!!! I also feel very stressed about planning and know I have 50 million things to do. I can't think about it or I will go nuts!!!

Sirev, did you see my update to the Maggie gown situation? I think it could help you when you go get the mega slip. Hope it helps

Re: FOR ALL DECEMBER BRIDES....

I'm 2 weeks before Decbride and I don't have everything done that she has either. I'm getting very nervous about all the little loose ends that need to be taken care of.

YIKES!!! DecBride - you are so on top of things- reading your post I realized I have to get cracking!

Sirev - I know exactly how your feel!

I still have to pick a veil/headpiece, send tuxedo info. to groomsmen, buy bridal party presents, make programs, make rehearsal dinner invites, order bubbles and table cameras, I have to register for more stuff (registry is getting bare), I need to figure out what jewelry to wear - and tons more!!! Also I need to start Christmas shopping so I don't have to worry about that around the wedding!

Re: FOR ALL DECEMBER BRIDES....

I am glad that I'm not the only one that feels that way! I feel like I am so far behind compared to DecBride02.

abc- I read your maggie update and I was thinking of doing the same thing. I have to go for my first soon and I'll see how it looks. Thanks!

Re: FOR ALL DECEMBER BRIDES....

Luckily I am not too overwhelmed yet. I have been staying on top of everything mainly because we are planning from out of town and that adds a whole other stress! So I have menus done and printed, programs covers done and need to print and put inside together, all BP gifts done, tuxes ordered, dj list done, working on photo list, final fitting is Mon, have veil and shoes, completed favors, did my template for placecards and printed table numbers. I made a huge effort to get all this done as early as possible. Next thing is to do x-mas shopping. And I have a week of final appointments with all vendors the week of Thanksgiving when I am home.

Re: FOR ALL DECEMBER BRIDES....

I hope I did not make anyone feel bad. I have been trying to keep way ahead of everything because I hate to have to stress out last minute. Please don't worry, I am sure everything will fall right into place for everyone. I still have a lot of misc. things to get done, and I am keeping a list and crossing things off as I get them done or bought, etc. The list has been really helpful. It keeps me focused on what I need to do, and I tell ya it feels great to get to cross something off of it. I suggest a list to everyone.

Re: FOR ALL DECEMBER BRIDES....

I have the list, the problem is nothing ever gets crossed off!!! Mainly because some of the items take decisions etc and it takes a few times of going or doing something before I can take it off the list. But thanks for sharing it actually has motivated me to move on things

DecBride02 - don't feel bad because you are so organized!! You are inspiring me! After reading your post - I am motivated. I actually crossed three more things off my list today. So I need to thank you for the motivation

Has anyone had their bridal showers yet?

Mine is the Sat after Thanksgiving...no surprise here...

Re: FOR ALL DECEMBER BRIDES....

Mine isn't a surprise either and it's this Sunday. I'm getting excited, except my work friends are conspiring to do something terribly embarrassing to me and I can't get one of them to give me a hint.

Jeanne and ABC7077 - I am glad that I motivated you guys.

Re: Shower - It is supposed to be a surprise, but I know it is 11/16 or 11/17. I am pretty sure on the 17th but not 100 % positive.

Re: FOR ALL DECEMBER BRIDES....

We should all check in every day or so and keep each other motivated to get things done. I know I need a good kick in the a** sometimes. It always helps to see what others have done to know what needs to get done asap, or get moved to the top of the list.

Re: FOR ALL DECEMBER BRIDES....

I think my 'surprise' shower is on November2nd. Besides my mom and dad sort of slipping, my coworker who was invited came up to me and said 'do you know that your shower is planned? Well I do now!!!! She said but the invitation did not say it was a surprise. Even if I got an invitation that left off the fact that it was surprised I would have some tact and try to wait until the bride said something so I would not put my foot in my mouth. So now by deductive reasoning, when my moh called and told me we must go shopping on the second of Nov. I figured out it must be then!!! I don't want to act surprised, I am going to feel so foolish!!! If anyone else knows about their 'surprise' shower please let me know how you are going to act when you enter the room!! Thanks

And.... I think the checking in thing for the December brides is a good idea!!!

Re: FOR ALL DECEMBER BRIDES....

Mine was supposed to be a surprise also but I found out from fh, who they needed a list from and he panicked

I am just going to act surprised for everyone else's sake, since it seems the biggest part of the surprise is for them anyway. I turn red so easily so I don't think it will be a problem to pull it off.

Re: FOR ALL DECEMBER BRIDES....

Mine was Sunday, September 29th. It was a total surprise! They did it a little early because my place was on the water and they wanted nice weather.

Re: FOR ALL DECEMBER BRIDES....

Hey all-
Just wanted to chime in that I'm another December bride, and have sooooooooo much left to do. I sometimes cry when I think about it, because I feel very overwhelmed - and my work situation is overwhelming me as well. I never thought it would get to me like this, but it has...

I have no idea when my shower is...and even though it's technically a surprise, c'mon now, we all know it's coming - how are they going to get me there without my figuring it out!! It's impossible!!
Plus I'm a horrible registry peeker!!!!

Went for my first fitting yesterday, and it was very exciting. I love my dress...Im still looking for my headpiece/veil, and I think I found the headpiece I want online.

Hope you all are doing well otherwise...

Re: FOR ALL DECEMBER BRIDES....

Checking in. I had my hair trial last night. She did such a great job. I was so happy with it. My hair is a pain in the a** because it is so fine, but she made me look like I had so much hair. If anyone is interested her name is Jen from Salon Jaleese in Smithtown. She does travel for the day of. I ahve been going to her for a while, but this was my first up-do with her, and I was so impressed. Stopped at Walgreens this morning and picked up a few thing for the emergency kit. I hope to get some more things done this weekend. How is everyone else doing. I know we just started this thread yesterday, but any updates? Let's keep each other motivated
