OK - I will try not to worry about it too!
I figure I'm just going to be hanging out on the deck of my OWB the entire time...I don't need much service.....so it should be amazing right?

There was an article in the NY TImes a while back about all the trouble tripadvisor.com goes through to weed out all the vendors that bash their competition, so I doubt that is the case.
BUT- it is just one review and I am sure the hotel will try very hard to please all the coming guests after seeing that awful review.

Re: French Polynesia (Tahiti, Bora Bora, etc.) Honeymoons!!!!!!
Went First Class Air Tahiti Nui from JFK to Papeete Tahiti ...that was $9000 alone. Bora Bora Nui for 8 days in an OW Bungalow was another $8000 ....le Ta'haha for 4 nights was another $5000. Jim Carey and Kate Hudson were at Bora Bora Nui while there....But yes, you don't need to go first class, you can get a garden bungalow ...and you can go to a lesser place. But it's your honeymoon!!!

Re: French Polynesia (Tahiti, Bora Bora, etc.) Honeymoons!!!!!!
Thank you... it was paradise on earth. If you're in Bora Bora ...you must go to villa mahana ...amazing restaurant. You should make reservations well in advance ...as there are only 5 tables. You can email the chef [email protected] to make reservations. We made reservations 3 months in advance. They'll send a car to pick you up.The other restaurants around Bora Bora were nothing.. we spent most of our time in our OWB and the resort itself ..which is not on Bora Bora ...but on a private Motu off of Bora Bora... We learned about Villa Mahana , as well as other what 'to do' what 'not to do' in Bora Bora, Tahitia, Le Tahaha via TripAdisor.com ....everyone should use that site ...no matter where they're going. It's a great resource. Of course you can set your budget to afford anything... but when possible... treat yourself ...as again, this is your honeymoon ...you'd like to look back 30 years from now ...and say 'Wow!!!' ...that was just not another trip.

Thanks for the info!
I made a reservation already for Villa Mahana and I won't be there until early Dec!
I just heard about how early they book so i wanted to make sure I get a reservation...glad that is taken care of.What did you think of Bora Bora Nui? Looks beautiful there...a lot of us on here are staying at the brand new IC Thalasso on Bora Bora. First reviews are all coming out (we all love tripadvisor on here too) and it sounds good. So far we've only seen one bad review so that's pretty good for a new hotel.
Did you stay in an OWB in Tahaa or the beach villa? I'm doing the beach villa there - doing OWB in Bora Bora as I heard the beach villas in Tahaa are amazing and HUGE! Can't wait to end the trip off in Tahaa! I am now counting the days down....I leave 5 months from tomorrow!!! Seems far but I know it will be here before I know it!

Re: French Polynesia (Tahiti, Bora Bora, etc.) Honeymoons!!!!!!
OWB in Le Tehaha .... it's hard to downgrade ....especially when you'll be coming from brand new hotel in Bora Bora. We were going to stay in the St. Regis ...but it wasn't ready yet. Bora Bora Nui was phenomenal though. We're big on 'new' ...'clean', etc. We heard there are bugs in the Garden rooms... little spider ants. We saw them in both places ...whenever at the resort restaurant or on land in the spa, etc. Not a huge deal ...but it might creep you out ...if it were where you're sleeping. They have business class on Air Tahiti Nui besides First Class .....and they run specials ....they treat you like Royalty in either ...so much better than coach ..it was really a fun part of our honeymoon (the flight itself). Enjoy!!!

I've been told by many that the beach villas at Le Taha'a are more superior and luxurious than the OWB's there....so hopefully it will not feel like a downgrade!!!
Thanks for all the info!
